It was at 108.9m before so 1.5m this past quarter, probably 8m for year considering its holiday will be eaten into by ps5 and its backwards compatibility. Lifetime it will end up between 125 and 130 million. I'll say 128m.

Well they could have cut, but when we done the projections for a 100 cut and how much more sales PS4 would need due to the cut the math didn't really match. It was something like additional 10M sales so late in the gen.

So in the end The PS4 will end up around 125 - 130m versus Xboxone's 55m, a crushing victory by a margin of 70m plus. I don't think ps5 will have it so easy, it'll still win because the playstation brand is so strong but it will not be a complete rout like this generation. I predict 110m PS5 to 80m Xbox series x.

So sometime around 2023-2024, you should see the PS4 above 130m.
(depending on how much price drops they do, it might possibly top out at ~140m before everything is said and done, at most)

I doubt it ever reaches 160m.
Playstation 2 only ever hit like 155-157m or something.

PS4 isnt beating that record.

I'm happy to see that I underestimated ps4. In 2018, I had thought it hard to believe to hit 120m before 2023 or so. But it's 110 right now. Wow.

Do you expect less than 10 million units?
It is necessary to reduce more than 3.6 million units to be less than 10 million units this fiscal year.

However, sales in April have already exceeded last year. 

That's just a temporary boost due to FF7R and the lockdown due  to Covid-19 pushing people buying consoles to pass time at home. Next months the sales will be down again, probably even stronger since I'm sure many who bought a console due to Covid-19 did just buy it earlier than expected instead of not at all.

Profit is more important than sales, Sony hardly made anything from the ps2 success. 2 billion > 20 million more sales.

Why would they give a forecast on a product they haven't officially announce yet. /facepalm...
