Forums - PC - One of those nights, any help?

Looks like you forgot the first rule of PC using/gaming - when something bad happens, restart. It works 90% of the time :D

PC Master race my ass...

Yeah, one of the examples I don't use PC to game anymore. After work, I just want to pop in the disk, download the day 1 patch, get angry about not being able to play it the day I bought it and play the next day.

@SvennoJ.. You're doing it wrong.

I guess the answer to that is Internet Speed Master Race :P.

Am I the only one who never has issues like these anymore? Damn, I remember how much I had to tinker with some games back in the late 90's early-to-mid 2000's. Now it just feels like a breeze
But yeah, Geforce Experience is a but with a lot of poop on it

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

I've never had this particular issue at all, and I've found GFE very beneficial for me. I use it for messing around with custom shaders for games, as well as recording gameplay clips and taking screenshots.

The one major part that's poopy about it, is their "optimised settings" panel. They claim "yeah, you can run this game at max settings, also 4k downsampled", and yet my machine runs minus 60fps because of it. The panel is basically lying to you and just telling you to crank up max settings. It isn't taking into account your CPU/RAM at all by the sounds of it, but apart from that, everything else of GFE is fine for me.

I use Geforce Experience for the screen recording purpose, it is awesome.

Exactly. It's so damn seamless, and I can set what res it's to record at, what fps, what the file size can even be, before hitting that record button. I've even set it to auto record at moments that would look awesome. It's a really nice piece of kit.

The ability to mess around with custom shaders is a blessing as well.

Some purists don't like Geforce Experience and say you should just do a manual install for every driver update. But that'd mean having to uninstall your driver, restart, clean install the new driver, then restart again, yet Geforce Experience literally does it all for you with the click of a button.

I've been using Geforce Experience since I built this PC 6 years ago, and the only time I had a problem was recently when trying to play Gears Tactics for the first time. Geforce Experience will tell you whenever there's a new driver update, but since I was only playing old games, I hadn't bothered updating for months.
For some reason I got an 'installation can't continue' error, so I had to do a manual install for the first time on this PC. It was all very painless though.

FYI, I'm on a desktop and the current latest driver is 445.87. If you have Geforce Experience installed, you can easily check for updates to make sure you're on the latest.

I completely forgot about the screen recording function. Yeah, that is awesome and it's not taxing at all. So yeah, I am going to wipe away a bit of a poop from the aforementioned butt
