Forums - Nintendo - After We Ski comes We Cheer

Namco-Bandai is at it again. After We Ski's innovative control and use of the Wii Board, comes We Cheer aimed at the girl gamer. Gameplay is like a mixture of DDR and Elite Beat Agents, and after some feedback it seems the controls are responsive. The game can be played single or multi-player and is controlled with the Wii remote and nunchuk combo, you can also hold two Wiimotes if you feel like it. Up to four players can play on a team or you can have a go at cooperating while one can control the left hand, the other controls the right. Also, depending on the difficulty of the song, you’ll have to move quickly and perform tougher movements.

The characters are all customizable and you can change their hair, outfits, pom pom colors, etc. With an exercise mode, two-player campaign mode and even a four-player Party mode, there will plenty for you to cheer about.

Wondering if someone would make a thread of this yesterday. Seems no one did...? When I showed my sister the videos, she started practicing the "moves", lol. I think she wants it bad!

We haven't bought any rhythm game yet for the Wii at my house; GH3 still mono in EU, we're not to sure on DDR (How's DDR:HP?), and then Rock Band... Only game still looking out for is Wii Music (whatever that is like). Although, I think this game all depends on the controls and if they are responsive (seems so by some previews). Looks like a game for good laugh.

Anyone else interested in the controls or game? Or it just plain sucks!?! xD

hehehe there is no stoping wii fit now :)

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Erh, can't really said if that looks like a good game or not, as cheerleading & co really is not popular in my country, but if a big developper/publisher such as Namco Bandai starts to care a little more (seriously) for the Wii/DS girl crowd, that can only be positive.

Nevertheless, technically, it is just another rythm game.

The end of days is upon us.

1 billion copies sold confirmed...

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Well it's weird for an adult-male but the concept is copied by Elite Beat Agent ( a masterpiece ). Ugh !

The theme isn't very friendly for all gamers, but I would like to try it out.

Quoting Kotaku:

Once we were allowed to go check out the games hands on however, I swallowed my pride and stepped up to test my cheering skilz [...] it was really quite a lot of fun after I got over my initial embarrassment. Everyone I spoke to afterwards really enjoyed it as well and we all agreed that this would be the best drunk/guilty pleasure game of 2008. it is obviously aimed at the ten girl market but I'm sure a fair share of units will be sold to "hardcore" gamers who will no doubt pull it out when no one is looking.
