Another anti christian game from assassins creed/ubisoft. Ever since the first game, how many times do they have to twist events and make christians the bad guy... i know the people behind the game are freemasony or of another cult, theycan't help but throw signs around the game world , some in plain sight others obscure, of 666, one eye and imagery of freemasonry /satanic images. In reality it was the vikings that invaded england and caused mayhem, burned churches and killed people. Here the Holy cross folk are bad, again.

I think they can do a middle ground where both sides have their views, just like the original did. It’s hard to fully paint Vikings as the good guys due to their literal pillage and murderous history. The Vikings have their reasons and the defenders have theirs. The makings of any good assassins game story with opposing ideals.

Lol, is it weird that I was rooting for England during that whole trailer? I don't really care for Vikings personally but I'm sure this will be a great game regardless.

As as Christian myself, I can honestly say that you are reading way too much into it. Within the Assasin's Creed lore, Jesus was killed by the Order of the Ancients/ Templars, the overarching bad guys of the series, not by the Assassins. Christians are never really portrayed as the villains in the series, the villains just disguise themselves as Christians sometimes, for instance the Borgia Pope in the Ezio games; they're not actual Christians, they just pretend to be. I will say that AC is not exactly the most Christian friendly series, but there are far, far worse series for Christians to play.

The whole point of having a Viking game is to play as a Viking, would be a pointless game that few would want to play if you played as the British repelling the Viking raids. Vikings are so popular that it was inevitable that we would get a Viking Assassin's Creed at some point. And they're not going to have you play as the villains, murdering and pillaging, they tried an AC where you play as a villain once, AC Rogue, and it wasn't very popular. So the only way to do it is to portray the Vikings as the good guys. The Order of the Ancients/Templars control the narrative of history within the franchise, using their power and connections, that is why we as modern humans remember the Vikings as murderous pillagers and the English king as a hero who repelled them, one of only 2 English kings to earn the epithet "the Great", the game shows us the "truth" is the opposite.

I’m all for Vikings but I’m very curious how the game will spin them as the good guys, especially with the Templar narrative you talked about. They literally travelled to what is modern UK looking for trouble lol.

Anti-christian? The final boss in the first game is a Muslim and the last two games are set before Christianity was even a religion.

The games antagonists are the Templars who try to get into positions of power and influence. When most of the games are set in Europe or when European countries were spreading influence across the globe, those positions tend to be in the Church.

How do you reckon they're going to make the vikings seem like the good guys here? Ya know the the invaders the people that pillaged, murdered innocent villages usually at night and then raped the women of their choosing? How are they going to make king Alfred look like a Antagonist for defending his country and people?

The trailer already gives you some idea of that. We hear Alfred saying that vikings murder and kill blindly during a scene of some vikings purposefully sparing a woman and child that cross their path. We hear Alfred talking about how bad they are, but see a scene of vikings playing with their children.

So Ubisoft are basically going to go into this historically incorrect then and make up their own version of vikings lol.

Maybe they will have the monks raping the viking women instead.

Be sure to read the 2nd paragraph I edited in above.

The AC series has never been designed to be historically accurate in terms of the storyline. I mean the pirates were the good guys in AC4, lol. They go to painstaking lengths to achieve historical accuracy in some ways, for instance creating the worlds based on historical maps and dressing the characters in period accurate clothing and armor, but in terms of story AC has always played it fast and loose with historical accuracy. Afterall, they have to work in a plot about 2 fictional orders, the Assassin Brotherhood and The Order of the Ancients/Templars, working against each other across thousands of years of history. A plot where all world religions are based on the worship of either members of the First Civilization (the first sentient race to inhabit earth before humans) or humans who used First Civilization artifacts to perform seemingly miraculous feats.

You make good points to be honest. To be fair I know it sounds like I slating the game I'm actually not I'm just find it intriguing how they're able to change things around and I'm can't wait for it. I'm a massive and fan of the viking age and I'm often called a Pagan by my friends. My whole upper body (beside face) is covered in norse style tattoos ie Knotwork, runes, the Ægishjálmr and old style drawings of sleipnir, jormungandr.

Sure why not.

I do not think the assasins creed games are known for being historical correct. :p

Well that is what Ubisoft do. But I imagine they'll have it more in keeping with the Viking TV show where their are lots of shades of grey. A lot of brutality but showing other aspects of Viking culture at the same time. Also, just because the main character is portrayed as a good guy doesn't mean all of the Vikings will be. I would be surprised if they didn't have a host of internal struggles among the Vikings as well.

It's also worth remembering that most written information about Vikings is from England so is certainly very one-sided.
