Stories 2 picking up steam; the first game opened at 140k, will be interesting to see if 2 can match that, as I think 3DS had a considerably bigger base at the time of 1's release in 2016.

Currently Switch has about 20 million units sold in Japan. I can't imagine the 3DS had a considerably bigger base in 2016 given the total lifetime to date sales of about 24.5 million units in Japan altogether.

It was a bit higher, but yeah I'd gotten too used to Switch being far behind 3DS in lifetime sales and forgot for a moment how fast the gap was closing.

Digital is a much bigger factor on Switch than on 3DS though so even if Switch has a lower physical opening it may match it including downloads, and will probably have longer legs as its arriving less late in the system's lifespan.

Has the number of COMG stores changed much since 2016?

I don't know, I only know the 14/12( i don't remember exactly) stores in Niigata Prefecture.

I remember, back then, is not many stores, and all have sony-oriented tastes.  

I was just curious as to how Stories 2 is tracking vs Stories 1 back in 2016, can't seem to find numbers for the latter...

Unless I'm missing some way of navigating, it looks like it'd take hours of constantly hitting "next page" to get where Stories released in that thread.

The 3DS title managed to get 103 points last day and 243 points first week sales.

While Stories 2 probably won't come close to those numbers, the fact that the store slimmed down since then and the rise of digital sales should more than make up for this.

set posts per page to 50 or 100, that makes it much easier to dig through. Also, just change the page number in the search bar if you want to make big jumps, much easier and faster than just going page by page.

Knowing when a title released is also helpful, as then you can just check the date on the first post and use this for your navigation. It took me about 5 minutes to find the right posts, not more.

Surprised that Shin-chan game isn't higher since I heard it got a lot of buzz in Japan upon its reveal, it's reveal trailer on Nintendo of Japan's youtube channel has over 2 million view for instance.
