Personal preference is one thing but it is a hot take when you shoot down an entire genre as "generic" and "turn based" It's vastly ignorant and you know it. Besides this topic isn't about driveby posts like yours. You gotta list em. You know you had a hot take to derail. You know it was a driveby. No one else did a driveby bashing and praising of another. Just you.

Hot take is your own decision based on how you feel and view me as. I said I prefer Western RPG's, which is my opinion, my own decision, not yours to dismantle and take away, via a childish card like "hot take". This isn't era, this isn't Twitter either.

I will say this one more time (take the hint); you have personal beef with me, to which I'd suggest you drop it now.

You should have listed your favorite WRPGs instead, of taking a shot at JRPGs (you did with the 'Generic' take). It was clear from the first post that this was a discussion about JRPGs mainly.

Alright, I'll remember the "taking the shot" comment any time I see someone not preferring RTS games over TBS next time. Instead I'll treat it as some form of personal attack, rather than a simple and personal pref.

Uhh, also, the title says "what are your fave RPG's ever", not "what are your fave JRPG's ever?". Nowhere in the OP did it mention that this topic should and always be about just JRPG's , nor does a few talking about JRPG's make this a JRPG only thread. OP even states: "Again you can list whatever sub-genre or not".

So, why not state your own list and move on? You had to make the "generic" comment, knowing full well that you were attacking a certain genre that was the dominant genre in the conversation. Everybody made a list, you took a shot, then claimed there is a personal 'beef' against you when you were called on it.

I have to ask the two of you the same thing. Why not just move on, instead of taking direct offense to my own opinion on what I like.

I've too many a WRPG to list, and at this moment in time, I'm not exactly going to adhere to demands, simply because it'll then fit in with the "now ya'll can move on" desire.

You cannot be wilfully ignorant, to suggest there is no such thing as a generic game, generic art, generic anything. DO not be that guy, who defies stupidity for no good reason. There are generic games in both categories of RPG out there, some that were reviewed badly, and some that just didn't do well at all, nor stand out.

It's amusing that you cite it as a direct "attack", as if the genre has a personality, a will of it's own, despite myself knowing full well that both sides have their own generic assets and styles. I just happen to prefer WRPG's over JRPG's, but you two cannot accept that it seems.

It's personal beef, because I'm not adhering to your shitty demands. Twice this has happened, because two people didn't like what I had to say, yet are absolutely guilty of saying shit that others didn't always agree with,. Do not shove hypocrisy down my throat, boy. Do not even begin to claim you're not guilty of saying stuff others didn't agree with.

Only one person has resorted to cursing, and name calling. Ironically, the one person who complained about this forum not being "twitter". This wasn't a thread of agreement or disagreement. It is a discussion in which you are asked to list a set of your own personal favorite games in a genre, something that you have yet to do.

And yet it has already veered off course, thanks to your continued last word on a subject that isn't a part of the OP.

Also, I told you before as to why I didn't list, but I'm not ehre to adhere to what you find acceptable/not accessible.

Some of my favorites:

Final Fantasy VI -- this, to me, is the best turn-based RPG ever made and the best SNES game (which is saying a lot)
Deus Ex -- the emergent gameplay and player choice in this one is phenomenal
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind -- a remarkable, lived-in open world with so much to do, see, and decide
Xenoblade Chronicles -- a near-perfect mixture of mechanics, battle systems, mission design, character progression, exploration, story, and sound
