"And Stacey Abrams is laughing about you. She’s going around saying these guys are dumber than a rock. What she’s done to this party is unbelievable, I tell you. And I only ran against her once. And that was with a guy named Brian Kemp, and I beat her. And if I didn’t run, Brian wouldn’t have had even a shot, either in the general or in the primary. He was dead, dead as a doornail. He never thought he had a shot at either one of them. What a schmuck I was. But that’s the way it is. That’s the way it is. I would like you . . . for the attorneys . . . I’d like you to perhaps meet with Ryan, ideally tomorrow, because I think we should come to a resolution of this before the election. Otherwise you’re going to have people just not voting. They don’t want to vote. They hate the state, they hate the governor, and they hate the secretary of state. I will tell you that right now. The only people that like you are people that will never vote for you. You know that, Brad, right? They like you, you know, they like you. They can’t believe what they found. They want more people like you. So, look, can you get together tomorrow? And, Brad, we just want the truth. It’s simple."

Absolutely insane that he is making an outright political argument for overturning the election results. This is treason.
Inb4 cult members say "but He SaId He JuST WaNTEd the truth". Yeah, like Don Corleone just wanted to make a really good offer.

He can't but there is still some wiggle room for him to try.  I am not really sure if Pence is willing to throw out his political career doing a stunt like this but if he does, things should get very interesting.  We already know that Trump will do anything to stay in power but the question is does Pence want to keep riding this train or is he ready to get off.  Either way, some really dumb stuff is going to happen on Jan 6th I believe and how thing shake down should be interesting.

Is there actually any Republican who lost his career for doing stupid things for Trump? Seems more like Republicans are falling over themselves to do stupid stuff to further their career.

I believe there is a long term effect that will present itself in 2024.  I believe that the Reps will experience huge defeats in both Senate and House because they have embrassed this fraud perspective and it will reduce Reps turnout.  The president definitely has a good solid base that will basically believe anything he says or does without question.  The polls show that 70% of Reps believe that some sort of fraud happen.  The thing is as the President becomes more desperate he starts to unravel and the people around him do the same.  It start to get to the point where people who are Reps but actually believe in the principles of the party start to realize they are going down a road where it goes against their values.  While I know many Reps, only the ones that drink the Qanon Kool Aid are really willing to believe and support all this nonsense, the rest have become very quiet and with time they probably will be happy they did not go to nutsville for someone like Trump.

I dunno about it. At about a dozen different points during this presidency I thought that this is the point where rational republicans will draw the line, and I keep getting proven wrong.

What Pence will do on either the 6th or 7th is ultimately ceremonial.  He doesn't get to pick who the president is, he simply counts the presented electoral votes.  Unless quite a few house democrats decides to vote otherwise nothing will change.  It's just getting comical at this point, everyday there is the next big thing that's going to overturn the election.  The conspiracy theory Trumpers hero Lin Wood all of a sudden claiming all these supreme court judges work for china, and the governor of Georgia who always sides with republicans is apparently working for Russia, and Mitch McConnell works for China because he is ready to move on from this, despite the fact all democrats hate Mitch.  The funniest statement so far thrown out by Lin Wood the other day was that Epstein is still alive and in protective services ready to come out on January 6th and drop the bomb that gets thousands of democrats arrested.  While I get some people like Trump, the time to give up on this sinking ship was the day after the election.

I totally agree with you.  When I look at what some of the Reps are willing to do I try to think of the strategy and why they believe this is a smart move.  What exactly are the looking to gain by this stunt and how do they believe this will help their political career.

As to the Lin Wood tweet, man that was comedy gold.  Its like he went to every Far right web site, read a bunch of forum post and decided to go full idiot.  The thing is, what he has stated is being said is the truth by the people he most certainly was trying to reach.  We keep forgetting that their is huge amounts of money that the President has at his disposal and more continue to come in.  While we may consider Lin Wood being crazy as hell, in reality its all a game and the prize is political power and money.  We only have limited data but I am certain between now and 2024 a lot of money will be changing hands and Lin Wood wants his piece.

I believe they were going party more than Trump.  There are the people who love Trump and they happen to be Reps and then their are Reps who just vote party lines.  They would be more than happy to vote for someone else if the option presented themselves.  The thing is as long as Trump was the only option then they were going to vote Trump instead of Dem just because of party affiliation.  This is why Trump coming back in 2024 probably would mount strong opposition from a lot of people and probably from people that support him today.  Trump cannot take another defeat to his ego and there are multiple Reps lining up believing that Biden got his job because of Trump then any fraud and that they can get those votes back by playing the middle.  This will all fail because playing the middle never really works especially in these types of situation.

But I think a lot of people think that the Trump base is necessary for conservatives to win.

Conspiracy theorists are in generally very unlikely to be engaged in politics or to vote, and Trump tapped in to that by validating whatever they said no matter how crazy so long as it benefitted him. So, republicans may be reluctant to offend that base by denying their new favorite conspiracy theory. Even if Trump is gone, he may be seen as a model for how to succeed in the party.

I find it very hard to believe that Republicans, both voters and politicians, who have supported downright disgusting policies against human rights and democracy long before Trump came along have a conscience big enough to actually act on it. It's more that the current anti-Trump sentiment is very much self serving and also very much temporary. They are contrarians, it's what they do. They are just momentarily distracted from the evil libs to pretend they are humans. I will believe they are humans when they stop voting for Republicans.

Donnie Boy is at it again.

1 hour long call to the GA Secretary of State regarding the November Election count in GA. Full transcript is in the link as well.

Nothing will come about because of this. If we were a nation that bothered to punish the powerful when they did something wrong, we wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. The Republicans just recognized that not enough people care for there to be consequences; Trump just received the second most votes in American history, for example, and the Republicans have actually gained seats in the House. I'm not even sure they'll lose either or both of the senate races today, although at least it's a possibility.

ONE DOWN!!!

Ossoff is projected to be the winner 99%, so we can call it already.
