Hmmmmm, I find your take equally interesting. Other than Zelda II, which early Zelda games were hit/miss/crap??? The series had TLOZ, LTTP, LA, OoT, MM, all in a row if you exclude Zelda II.

Zelda is the most consistently great series there is. Even Zelda 2 has a certain charm. I don't think there is any console version that has ever missed.

Never forget.

ah, we found it, we found the biased one!

Zelda 1 is...good. It's alright. It spawned something great but on its own its only okay. (I feel that way about every game on the NES except Mario bros 2 and 3 as well as the Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest games. I feel that the NES did 2D as well as the N64 did 3D: We could do it but very few games did it well and aged well.)

Zelda 2 is trash from top to bottom.

Zelda 3/Link to the Past is a masterpiece.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time is good for its time but it was just a 3D Link to the Past (which meant uglier and clunkier)

Majora's Mask is a mixed bag. It has all the problems of OOT without any of the charm or feel. It DOES have a unique gameplay loop and original plot/theme, though.

Wind Waker is a masterpiece but a LOT of people hate it (no idea why, it's my third favourite zelda and arguably the 2nd best overall zelda game)

Links Awakening is just a simpler Link to the Past. IT's good, but not great (I got the remake on Switch and..it was alright)

Oracle of Seasons/Ages were great again.

The 'Zelda formula' was perfected with Link to the Past, emulated poorly with Ocarina of Time, dismissed for Majora's Mask, twisted in a weird but in my opinion great way for Wind Waker, and perfected in Twilight Princess. I personally hated Skyward Sword almost as much as I hated FFXIII but we'll not get into that. Breath of the Wild is another masterpiece.

And no, people didn't 'ignore' the flaws in that game. you're a fool if you think that. the reason it got perfect scores across the board is becuase, while there were flaws, there was so much int he game that was outstanding that the flaws didn't matter. There were MANY flaws in Ocarina of Time, too, and those were far, FAR more annoying and obfuscating than 'weapon durability' or whatever.

My Console Library:

I disagree with pretty much all of your opinions on the Zelda games.  Does that mean you're biased?

Nah, Zelda 2 was pretty good. It had a great atmosphere at the time. Ocarina was a masterpiece. TP is my favorite, and I did feel the series hit a wall with SS, but was still a 8.5-9/10.

Personally I don't think it's possible for a game to be "perfect". There will always be room for improvement.

I can certainly think of ways that games like Ocarina and BOTW could be better, it's just that for me their imperfections are vastly outweighed by their many overwhelmingly positive attributes. This doesn't mean I'm a fanboy turning a blind eye, just that for me the problems were not enough to significantly diminish the overall experience.

Calls someone bias, then goes on expressing his own personal opinion as fact.

Pot and the kettle I suppose.

I know you are trying to make the point that disagreement does not equate to bias, but Runa is indeed biased.

Literally everyone is biased. I just wasn't allowed to use the term 'fanboy' because apparently it's a banned term on here.

Holy fuck...Literally everyone is biased. I just couldn't think of a better term to describe his level of fanaticism without using the proper (but banned) term of 'fanboy'. Or fangirl. whatever.

The whole point of banning the word fanboy is because people generally use it to dismiss any contrary opinion without any need for actual reason or evidence.  You know... what you're doing...
