US passes 300,000 officially dead from Covid (probably more like 475,000 due to data suppression) and are now above 3000 as a daily number.
+3,263 Yesterday.

Out of curiosity what website do you use for your numbers? I use worldometer and they have slightly different numbers.

110,000+ hospitalised with covid19 too.
That 3,000 a day number is probably gonna keep going on for awhile (will probably grow abit, since deaths lag infections by a few weeks or more).
(and things are worse now than just 3weeks ago)

Wouldn't be surprised if two weeks from now, that daily number is like 3500 pr day.

*edit:
Also the surge from thanks giveing hasnt even really kicked in yet, thats still another week out or so.

Worldometer updates as corrections come in. Refresh it now and it's just over 300K, yet the total from yesterday dropped. If you click on 2 days ago it's 3,263 dead added. The numbers aren't stable, the last 2 days still get corrections.

Sweden going back on two more things they've claimed all along; children are not spreaders and closing schools for ages below senior high to reduce spread is stupid (it turns out that 40% of the total discovered spread came from schools for kids under the age of 16). So they embrace yet more draconic, anti-democratic, and anti-scientific methods in closing more schools in the Stockholm region. This is getting ridiculous, and they still can't admit to having botched things up from the beginning.
Their ICU situation nationwide is critical, they are one step away from having to beg neighbors for aid to take some pressure off.

Oh I see, I wasn't making the connection that Jumpin was referring to 2 days ago. nvm then.

The genes - called IFNAR2, TYK2, OAS1, DPP9 and CCR2 – partially explain why some people become desperately sick with COVID-19, while others are not affected

I wonder if those ancestral DNA kits could test for those genes, would be useful information since anti body tests are not available here. However, good news for finding new treatments.

Interesting; with all the new and existing medications under study or development, hopefully within a few years we'll reach a point where COVID is easily treatable, so even the few cases that slip through the vaccine net can be dealt with without fuss and it will become as unheard of for people to die of it as it now is for Tetanus.

The USA approves Pfizer's vaccine:
