Forums - Sales Discussion - PS4/XBO/NS - 2019 vs 2020; WEEK FIFTY-THREE!! GAME! SET! MATCH!

Just posted Week 13 numbers. A steady hold for the Switch from last week's massive AC boost. Meanwhile, the PS4 and Xbox One were slightly up from last week.

Never would have guessed animal crossing would be so big. I don't see the appeal. But holy shit that's a giant boost. I'm still here waiting on metroid.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

1.3 million advantage for switch and the AC momentum will be seen for few more months and maybe until the holidays since it is a really good holiday title.

It will be hard for the Switch so lose this advantage tbh. It performed not that great in the summer last year and tbh even with the shortage I dont see it dipping a lot under 200k. End of the year will be really important (and switch lite launch). But still even if it doesn't peak this year and just remains stable, it will be an incredible performance.

I think the Mario celebration will help and I don't see the switch not getting a price cut this year or alteast a reduction bundle with MK8 or something.

I think they will be pretty aggressive this year on Black Friday and for the holidays.

Animal Crossing totally went mainstream with this installment. Like it is everywhere.

Well, I think part of that has to do with the virus.

With everyone locked indoors and unable to really go anywhere or do anything aside from watch TV, go on the computer, and play video games, Animal Crossing is the PERFECT type of game to spend hours, days, weeks, months, of your time playing. I remember this old lady who's got New Leaf save file that clocks in over 3,000 hours.

I bought the game digital so I could get it quick.  I pumped in 3 hours the first day, 8 hours the next, and then another 8 for good measure.  I never got the appeal either.  I wished I had purchased the physical copy so I could give it away.  I really just don't get it.  I watched some videos to try to understand what it is that's wrong with me and the appeal seems to be a sense  of belonging to a community (of make believe characters). That is not me.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

Switch is really rising very fast with Animal Crossing.

PS4, on the other hand... well, let's just say that at the current rate, the projections are looking quite bad for all those who thought the console would still sell over 10M this year.

Sony has yearly minus what Nintendo has yearly plus.

PS4 down by 40k, XBO stable, Switch almost double

However, Switch will most probably be down the next weeks as it's sold out pretty much everywhere.

Even if the Switch remains sold out or in very short supply through these next few weeks, I still think it should be up over last year consistently.
