Forums - Sales Discussion - PS4/XBO/NS - 2019 vs 2020; WEEK FIFTY-THREE!! GAME! SET! MATCH!

Welp, PS4 continues to drop hard, the lack of release in late January (2018:MHW, 2019:KHIII) is felt strongly.Hopefully FF7R can slow down the demise a bit.
Switch up and up
XBO weaker but doesn't drop as much as the PS4 percentage-wise

Out of that list, I only expect FF7R, TLOU2 and Ghosts of Tsushima to have some visible effect, with maybe Cyberpunk 2077, too. And if any of those will get a PS5 version at it's launch, the boost will certainly be more limited due to all those holding off for the PS5 version. But neither will propel the PS4 anywhere close to last year sales anymore, a boost to about 200k during release week only seems more appropriate to me now.

40M for FF VII R alone.

- DOOM Eternal - already got the DOOM reboot
- Granblue Fantasy Versus - Granblue Fantasy is a mobile game franchise and pretty unknown in the west.
- Persona 5 Royal - basically a rerelease of P5 which is already on the PS4
- Resident Evil 3 - RE2 Remake exists already
- Final Fantasy VII Remake - PS4 already got FFXV
- The Last Of Us Part. II sur PS4 Pro - one of the two games that have some hardware impact
- Ghost Of Tsushima sur PS4 Pro - the other one of those two
- Predator Hunting Grounds - the Predator franchise is not that relevant, the last movie was not that great
- Cyberpunk 2077 - multiplatform title but could do something for hardware. But even more unlikely since it got delayed
- Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions - not a big franchise and there are plenty of football games on the PS4
- Guilty Gear Strive - PS4 has multiple Guilty Gears and fighting games are rarely system sellers
- Tales of Arise - Also got multiple Tales of games already

Most of these won't do anything for PS4 hardware sales.

The console is just too old at this point and already got games of the same franchises, which severely weakens the effect on hardware sales.

PS4 at 159 million at the end of the year man.

And to be serious, I see a lot of people wanting a PS4 for Final Fantasy VII Remake. I joke a lot, but you underestimate things by believing FFXV done everything.

Finally managed to get my internet up and running again and now I've posted Week 6 numbers. Switch with a notable bump from Week 5, putting it at over 2 million units. It took the Switch until Week 8 last year to reach that same mark. Meanwhile, the PS4 has managed to hit 1 million for this year. 2 weeks later than it took last year. Xbox One... well what is there to be said?

Hmm...

I don't know if you're joking or not... With this comment or the ps4 159 million by end of year.

If you're not, why do you think either of those things will happen?

I hope I can get a girlfriend or even a guy friend in 2020, but I am not sure I can be loved.

Wrong thread, maybe?
