I like Ricky Gervais but his sthick is old. At the end of the show he told people to donate to Australia, which a lot of the other celebs on the show mentioned as well. How is he not a hypocrite?

There was nothing cool or edgy about his speech. In fact many celebs ignored him and carried on with what they wanted to say anyway.

You're so sad you even have to politicize relief aid to Australia which is suffering from one of the worst disasters in history.

But there's something more telling here. The dunning-Krueger effect I believe you guys call it.

It's funny how so many Americans think they are experts at humour despite being unable to conceive of core elements such as self-deprecation, irony, and not viewing everything through a miserable political lens.

From Germany to the US: lighten up!

P.S. Since I know this is going to hurt the asses of some,
#NotAllAmericans

Do you get it?

What the hell are you talking about? How did I politicize relief aid to Australia?

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Wont change anything, but cool moment. Honestly it's a non-issue, so what if they preach, no ones forced to listen or do as they say.

There is nothing at all political about that statement.

Here is an exact quote from what Ricky Gervais said: "You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything." and ""So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent, and your God and f*** off, OK? It’s already three hours long."

So had he or any of the celebs who mentioned Australia fires had listened to his advice they would not have said anything at all about donating. Obviously some celebs thought hey its cool I won maybe I should use all the attention to get people to think about Australia and did just that even though they were in no position to lecture the public on the merits of donating to Australia.

Is English not your first language? Maybe you have trouble comprehending simple concepts.

English isn't my first language, but I suspect I understand it a lot better than you do.

"If you do win an award tonight, don't use it as a platform to make a political speech. You're in no position to lecture the public about anything."

The irony. You accuse me of not understanding simple concepts when it's, in fact, you who failed to understand.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I have no idea what point you are trying to make. I suspect neither do you.

I am done with this pointless exchange.

Goodnight Everyone. Donate to fire relief efforts in Australia!
