To be fair, 343i indeed needs a boot. If Microsoft cares about Halo, they should give it to another studio after Infinite. And 343i should be moved on working with smaller projects.

If Infinite is actually good then no, I strongly disagree that they need the boot cause they took 3 months extra to get Co-op into the game.

Do they need some management sorting? Likely.

Do we need to dump the entire studio? No.

The Multiplayer was universally praised, the Art-Style is loved, Graphics have significantly improved with the extra time. The remaining unknowns are Story and Content and I don't think we should kick an entire studio off a game because they didn't get every single Halo feature in on launch.

They can be made more efficient without booting the entire studio off the series.

More to the point, folk love saying that Halo should be given to someone else as if it's something simple, first you'd have to find a suitable studio for it, secondly they'd have to accept, thirdly, Halo is a massive IP and is a huge amount of pressure for any studio, the amount of content that Halo is expected to have in launch far exceeds most games of its kind, CoD and Battlefield have in the past dumped their entire Campaign modes! Lol.

Joe Staten is there, a Veteran of Halo, if we can't trust him to steer the ship right then who can we trust? Lol. Maybe start ANOTHER studio from scratch? But that's a whole massive headache when you could just as easily clean up 343 from the inside.

I say wait until launch, if it's good then awesome, if it's bad then think about drastic measures, but I want to actually give Joe Staten more of a chance because if he can't sort things then God knows who can.

I think another option can be is to let 343i work on just a multiplayer and make someone else handle the campaign part of Halo. If Infinite doesn't turn out to be good.

So I heard 12 minutes is pretty good. Any one here check that out?

1) The Coalition has always been massively pushed Tbh, it was a miracle that they got Gears UE/4/5 out as fast as they did, Rod Fergusson has also in the past spoken positively about crunch so I wouldn't be surprised if The Coalition was crunched to shit under him, I think The Coalition now is actually receiving a reasonable amount of time, they can take their time thanks to the increased investment from Microsoft to Xbox as a whole, that's a good thing.

Creative Assembly didn't work on Gears Tactics at all but I get ya, yeah, Splash Damage did most of the work, Splash Damage is also moving further into original IP now though thanks to Tencent which could hurt future Gears titles. We dunno how much Hivebusters took from the development team. I would speculate that Gears 6 with Rod leaving has likely gone back to the drawing board, the...split decision in Gears 5 was certainly controversial and left them in an awkward position, now they have to either create two storylines (adding even longer development times) or pick one decision and piss off the other group.

2)Again, we don't know how much time it takes to adapt to Unreal Engine 5, we aren't developers, Lol. The Coalition will only release their New IP when Unreal Engine 5 has fully released and has all the set features, it's been said that they're doing it to essentially 'master' Unreal Engine 5 before moving onto Gears 6 and that will take time, along with Unreal Engine 5 only fully releasing in 2022. Black Myth: Wukong has a release date of 2023...

3)As I mentioned above, Microsoft has a crappy policy regarding contractors which means a lot do leave, it shouldn't be used as an indication of the studio being in turmoil. They could be revamping the team, but I also wouldn't call that turmoil either.

4)They won't reveal the IP at Gamescom because Xbox has already said Gamescom is for their releases in this year. I think it will be revealed at E3 2022 with a date of Early 2023.

5)A lot of studios at Xbox now are taking their time simply because they have the luxury of doing that now thanks to Microsoft's increase in investment, they can take their time and avoid crunch, in the end making a better game and having a healthier studio. We need to accept that a lot of games will be years away for those reasons but it isn't indication of the studios being in a mess but more that they simply can.

For the Cutscene guy, we could say, man, 15 years, maybe he just wants a change of scenery? Lol We don't know why he left so unless Jason pops out with "The Coalition is a mess!" I wouldn't panic, he's the one you can trust with this stuff and he has confirmed that 343 is a bit of a mess but no other XGS.

1) well they always worked with deadlines, he goes deeper in his role with the gears of war retrospective book but without him Gears of war 1 would have been in a different state because it was basically in a mess.

2) Well we will see, Wukong has no release date but is a mistranslation.

3) With so many Gears veterans gone (not just contractors) and lot of new employes who were hired after G5 release with no experience in the franchise ...well it makes people worry.

4)True but they said that about the xbox show and I expect an PS announcement during geoff show, it is a great moment to announce something.

5) See 3)

Yeah been playing it for few hours and it is good. You'd think going over and over the same actions during 10 minutes time-frame would get frustrating and annoying but it doesn't.

Voted no, and glad I'm in the majority. I don't see the need to delay a game for a few features. Why delay it so other people who don't care about co op or forge have to wait too. Just wait to play the game three months later, or just play the MP. Speaking for myself, I rarely play games day one anyway, so I don't see the issue with waiting a few months.

It's always in the news for the last couple of weeks, so of course it increased the people's interest in visiting it in Flight Sim

Campaign co-op sounds right to me as it's referring to a missing feature from the campaign. "Co-op campaign will release after 3 months" may sound like the campaign is co-op only or a separate campaign that is delayed.

Unfortunately I agree with Angelus that this ain't a good look for XGS either. It's not the first game with a messy launch. Gears 5 with all their mtx schemes and other issues comes to mind. It's all well and good now and love the game, but it could've done better.

MTX's is a whole other thing, The Coalition for the most part is absolutely fine, they spat out multiple great Gears titles on a tight ass deadline too.

I don't like this "blame the entire XGS for one studios mistake" thing, it's hyperbole. Microsoft is hands off, a studios mistake is their own and has no reflection on any other.

We have zero indication of management issues in other XGS other than 343 and maybeeee Rare (and that's a massive maybe).

Xbox has 23 studios now, it ain't a shock 1/2 have some issues.

I don't see anyone saying that cause Bethesda has fucked up the Fallout IP lately, that we can no longer trust ID Software, Arkane, Machine Games, etc...

I think you read too much into my comment and got yourself worked up for no reason. I'm not blaming entire XGS for the mistakes some studios do. It's about time they start stepping up their game and a flagship title should be the one to make a statement. It's what people expect.

Whether it's lack of content, unpolished game with bugs, microtransactions bs whatever too many XGS games have had issues at launch. And now majority seem to support the idea of releasing an unfinished game that's going to be yet more bad PR. Can't wrap my head around it. And then we should just have faith in them actually delivering these features on schedule? Nah.. this is poor planning and asking for trouble.

I don't understand you guys. Even if you don't personally make use of certain game modes/features, you shouldn't ever want a game in a franchise you love to launch without aspects that have been core to it's identity since inception. This poll result is perfect example of why so many game companies feel perfectly ok about constantly releasing unfinished games that are often 1 step forward and 2 steps back from their predecessor.

Gamers are apparently always willing to settle for less, as long as at least some particular itch can be scratched for them here and now.

Ffs sake Ryuu96 we're here because we love XGS and their games not to shit on them :D  and wish for more positive buzz around games when they launch.
