I don't understand you guys. Even if you don't personally make use of certain game modes/features, you shouldn't ever want a game in a franchise you love to launch without aspects that have been core to it's identity since inception. This poll result is perfect example of why so many game companies feel perfectly ok about constantly releasing unfinished games that are often 1 step forward and 2 steps back from their predecessor.

Gamers are apparently always willing to settle for less, as long as at least some particular itch can be scratched for them here and now.

I know that Gears 5 is not Halo but it has an co-op campaign and the achievement rate of completing 1 chapter in co-op is only 7% so that means 93% didn't care and of those 7% you also have achievement hunters.

You might want to take into account that under 40% of people who played Gears 5 even completed Act I. And that percentage includes that 7%. So out of gamers who care about the campaign, co-op players aren't exactly a tiny portion going by these numbers.

I'm not necessarily talking about you though, but rather the line of thinking that produces the minimization I've seen in this thread because "most people don't seem that bothered with forge not being there": a lot of that is BECAUSE people aren't considering custom games.

I feel as a result when you say stuff like that it's super disingenuous.

"Just hope they can get it out ASAP and cause Halo Infinite is a 10 year project or whatever, it ain't too late and folk will still be invested deeply into the game in 6 months from release, and I hope it's easy for the content creators to quickly make stuff, I have read interesting leaks about Forge from someone on Era (Prior to the Halo Beta leaked files!!!)

Which makes it even more vital that Multiplayer is content packed on launch to tide folk over until Custom Games/Forge craziness comes."

Not really relevant but you quoted me in the middle of an edit

Okay that line should definitely be more along the lines of "Most folk seem accepting of Forge's delay" or something, obvs it's disappointing but I think the expectation is Forge is huge and almost its own entity now, folk assuming this Forge will also have huge improvements, so they're more willing to wait over something like Co-op Campaign which should definitely have been there day one.

God I really hope they add AI though, I was doing some reading and apparently it would have had to be built into the engine to allow AI for Forge...Well...They did revamp the engine so...We probably aren't getting AI but it would be so cool.

"Most" was the part of the comment I had issue with though (that wasn't an actual quote from you, it was paraphrasing). Unpopular truth: In reality, most Halo players would be ok with Campaign being delayed indefinitely, especially because it's the only part that people have to pay for, so they'd be waiting for the part they actually have to spend money on whilst also getting to play a free multiplayer mode. And by "most" we mean a majority. Doesn't matter if it's 51% or 78%. Does that make it ok? I don't really think so. Frankly even if that margin of error is off (like say, 48% were fine with no campaign instead of 51%) the fact that is even close to a reality proves the point I think.

I think the real stinker is what supplemental game modes are there even in Infinite if it doesn't have co-op, forge, or firefight?

It doesn't matter if 10-20% of users use that or this, we're still talking about potentially millions of people that expect these features day one, ones that have been mainstays in the franchise. This a big L for 343, they better pray they deliver a really good campaign.

Was torn between "Unsure" and "No" in the Psychonauts poll. Decided to vote "No" after all. Working on backlog at the moment. Have a ton of already purchased games which I really want to play, so it takes a priority. And then, starting from early September there will be ton of new games coming out, so I'll be busy with new stuff for the next half year I think.

Think you guys posted enough since last night? Logged on to over 50 new posts in the thread xD

My thoughts on the overnight topics:

-Voted No to the delay for obvious reasons. At this point a 2nd delay would do more damage than the late features will, the majority of fans don't use Forge or campaign co-op often enough for them to feel a delay is justified. Why piss off the majority of the fanbase who mainly wants to play the multiplayer as soon as possible in order to satisfy a minority who would use campaign co-op more than maybe once or use Forge very often? It's just not good business sense.

-Yes, 343 is mismanaged, that is abundantly clear. Bonnie Ross needs to go and any others in leadership positions who are gumming up the works need to go as well. 343 has 550+ devs (their largest team ever) and have spent 5 and a half years working on Halo Infinite compared to 3 years for Halo 5, and still the game is missing features on release, there is no excuse good enough to justify that, not even Covid. I think taking the Halo IP from 343 as some suggested overnight is way too extreme, but 343 needs a top to bottom review by Phil after Infinite releases, people in leadership positions need to be held accountable for the many screw ups that happened over the course of it's development, from the failure to achieve graphics on par with the engine reveal trailer, to the disastrous campaign reveal last summer, to this latest debacle. The issues at 343 must be rectified before the campaign expansions for Infinite start releasing.

-Probably not playing Psychonauts 2 on release as I never got around to playing the first game (hard to feel incentive to play it when it has no achievements). I have so many games on my backlog I don't know if I will ever get around to playing Psychonauts sadly.

Completely agree with your first point. And I don't think it's a secret that they are mismanaged. I can't speak to how badly they are though. And lame af no cheevos in 1.

Geoff apparently said that Xbox will have announcements on ONL, I wouldn't expect anything major though, probably some release dates, Psychonauts 2 launch trailer.

New studio please.

No big deal.

Ofcourse they will like I mentioned before =p

Except if you are an completionist and not really necessary, psychonauts is not a long game and makes the experience for the sequel better.

Btw: A new idea for an bet.  'Will 343 keeps their promise to release the co op option 3 months after its release?'

I’m glad we’re getting a new Halo this year and the most important features like campaign and multiplayer will be there day 1.

How can you say no to this man.

Summoning @DroidKnight to lighten this thread up with a bit of shit-posting.

Ill do that for you..

WTF is up with all the Halo Co op fans lately?, where the fuck where you guys with the other halos that only had like 7% of players playing co op?. What you guys didnt support the feature and now your crying cos its not going to be there on launch?. Maybe you should of played it more to show MS how much you love Co op.

*Edit* and that gif fits so perfect with what im saying xD.

It's funny you say that because I actually tried to play co-op with a friend on PC for MCC and the first friend I tried it with the connection was terrible (despite both having great internet), the second well ... we could never even play because there was no cross-platform co-op (don't know if they implemented that yet)
