No, it was a pretty mediocre GaaS game from what I played. But, I've seen some people who said they liked it, so I guess it will be a big deal for some people.

It’s actually not a GaaS. They’ve said everything is in the game day one and don’t plan to update it like a GaaS.

That's actually so great to hear lol I was planning on trying it out since it was hitting gamepass but idk if I could juggle another GaaS game now I'm 100% giving this a go

Square-Enix sale going on right now.
Will be interesting to see how this affects the next JRPG update

Interestingly, no Kingdom Heart titles. I'm waiting for Melody of Memory to go $20 or less (and it doesn't have a physical version)

I feel like this deal was done recently, Square Enix agreeing to this probably means that they felt that this game was going to struggle.

Maybe they should do Balan Wonderland too, I feel sorry for anyone who is willing to pay 60$ for that game.

Speaking of which, they did announce today that there will be a day one patch that fixes some of the issues that people had with the demo:

It's a shame they didn't decide to delay it to implement more of the changes that people wanted after the demo. Hopefully they will implement more changes with post-launch patches, I'm not in a rush to play it, will wait on a sale or a Gamepass addition.

It should have been delayed even before the Demo came out, How can some higher up at Square Enix play that demo and not think that it would reflect badly on the game? It has a ton of major problems that can’t be fixed with a day one patch.

For us customers it’s a good thing that they released a Demo because we actually got to get a good feel on the game was before it’s release.

I know, a little fanboyish, but I lol'd.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

There seem to be a lot of people who really liked this game.  It really could just be that this game just does not do it for the people who do not enjoy it.  I enjoyed the game enough especially once I had a chance to unlock a bunch of the different characters powers and started to combine them within the demo.  I am interested to see if the game open up with more locations which would be great.  Playing the game solo wasn't as fun as it was playing with a few friends and combining different power and classes together.

The Outriders news would sound cooler if it actually looked interesting.

Am I being unfair? Did anyone come away from the demo thinking it'll be a big surprise?

I wonder if this is why you may not have given the demo a chance.  The game is not a GaaS as the developers dropped that model.  Its basically a game a lot of people have asked for which is a hero shooter that does not live behind the GaaS model.  You have a complete story that you can play CO-OP with your friends.

I also pre-ordered the headset, hope it'll arrive this week. Apparently it's superb quality for its price.

Linus Tech Tips already covered this. No clue why that is.
