I want it to happen so badly but I really hard time believing it...

Might be reading too much into this but if I'm not, fuck, I'm guessing Covid got it.

Sad for those that have lost their job, but time to return home, Marcus?

Although, Joseph Staten left during Halo 3 development because he had an argument with Marcus, Lol, hopefully that is behind them.

Ahh I just want whatever convinces Joe to stay. xD

Sad to hear that they are shutting down after only releasing one game.

I really hope FH5 releases this year. Not only because I really want to play it, but it would do wonders for the Xbox platform. It has arguable become the most popular Xbox exclusive franchise since the 8th gen.

The sad part that I never remembered their game actually releasing.  From the youtube video it looks very interesting.  I wonder if it never gain any traction because there was no real advertising for the game or it did not hit the right note to gain any attention or support.

While both popular, SoT and Horzion fill a different base of players.

Last I heard SoT was PC heavy, player base wise, meanwhile Horizon is console heavy, so for this particular discussion I'd say Horizon is more important for xbox series than a hypothetical SoT2.

Got a feeling we won't get a clear answer and Microsoft will keep stringing us along for years for certain games (like Elder Scrolls and Indiana Jones), but if so, why the hell would they do an video to tell us what everybody already knows, they'll be on Game Pass, we all already know that, sigh, I can't wait for this to be over with, Lol.

Imagine them announcing and making a deal out of this event only to tell Xbox fans that the titles won’t be exclusive, seriously they just should tweet it or put out an Xbox Wire article if that is going to be the case.

The thing is, what MS want and what gamers want are probably 2 different things and do not always line up.  MS is not just made up of Xbox gaming division and because of that, a lot of moves will be made for the whole company and their shareholders then gamers specifically.  The main thing is that we do not know what the entire strategy is for MS gaming division outside of that gamepass is something they are putting a lot of effort into.  Its reaching those 2 billion devices that MS is really after and thus their goal probably is not the old console war anymore.  This is why they may not actually see Sony in the same competitive light as the Xbox fan.

I am positive if MS could make a deal with Sony today to allow gamepass to work on Sony console through their browser they would take that deal in a heartbeat if that means all their games can be played on Sony system.  I would even go so far as to say that MS would value a deal like that where they would let Sony be the hardware company and MS build the gamepass infrastructure and be stratified with that arrangement.

In the future, I believe the Xbox will become like MS surface line.  MS will continue to create Xbox consoles but they are looking to have other hardware vendors including TV, Chrome type devices, PC, you name it and all of them running games from MS gamepass subscription.

Microsoft is still very much in biz (yeah been playing Cyberpunk) to sell games and hardware so I'd say there's no way they'd bring Game Pass on Playstation for now. And simply letting Sony take the hardware market would be risky af and possibly not even as profitable. I think selling as much consoles as possible is crucial to success of Game Pass, for both MS and consumers.

Officially Welcoming Bethesda to Team Xbox

This is an exciting day for Xbox. Today we officially complete the acquisition of ZeniMax Media, parent company of Bethesda Softworks. It’s an honor to welcome the eight incredibly talented development studios – Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog, and Roundhouse Studios – and their passionate global communities to the Xbox family. Now that everything is official, we can begin working together to deliver more great games to everyone. At every step building toward this moment, I’ve been inspired and motivated by the creativity, insight, and community-first approach of the talented people at Bethesda. Our goal is to give these teams the best foundation for doing their greatest work and to learn from them as we continue to build Xbox into an inclusive platform for all players.

This is the next step in building an industry-leading first party studios team, a commitment we have to our Xbox community. With the addition of the Bethesda creative teams, gamers should know that Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC players.

As we shared previously, it’s vitally important that Bethesda continues making games the way it always has. We look forward to empowering Bethesda’s creative teams to reach even more players around the world, helping make future Bethesda titles the biggest and most popular games in their history. Xbox and Bethesda have long shared a common vision for the future of gaming. Both as fans and as creators, Bethesda understands the potential of Xbox Game Pass.

We would also like to honor the life and memory of my close friend Robert A. Altman, founder of ZeniMax Media. Robert believed deeply in the power of gaming and we are privileged to be able to continue his work by joining forces with the teams he built and led for many years.  I will miss the opportunity to work directly with him on the future of our combined teams but I know that his spirit will live on in the shared work we do and motivate us to make this partnership all he envisioned.

Thank you to all our players for joining us on this incredible journey and to the millions of Bethesda fans around the world. Now that we’re one team, we can start working together on the future ahead. We will have more to share about what’s next for our teams later this year. In the meantime, to properly celebrate this special moment, we are bringing additional Bethesda games into Xbox Game Pass later this week. Stay tuned for more details!

It looks like they will stick to the "case by case" scenario. At least "some" games will be exclusive. The real question is which games will those be. Let's see how this turns out.
