If Lost Odyssey is ever going to be brought back then it needs to have a Remake before they ever consider a sequel.

Recently bought the Iphone 12 and was looking for Xcloud lol thanks for nothing Tim Apple.

I played part of it. I remember it was free a few years ago.

The world pretty much doesn't remember Lost Odyssey lol In fact, only a few people on the internet even know who the fuck Mistwalker even is at this point. |
A sad truth. It sold close to a million but it was released about 12-13 years ago a this point.
I would bet my house on never getting a sequel.
If I was in MSFT's shoes, I'd remake the game and plan for a second story solely due to diversification. It can't all be shooters, cars and now with Beth, WRPGs. They need something for those of us who don't like watching potato faces for hours on end.
I would pretty much find out who has Cavia and Imageepoch's catalog and snap all of those sweet Ips for GP. Bloody Roar Remake and Reboot, Time and Eternity 2 for the waifu lovers, another Infinite Undiscovery like game, a dating sim for guys to highlight that we are NOT Sony/Apple! and an Oneechanbara clone.
Being brutally honest, games for hormonal teen guys (or guys who like pretty girls and boys in general) who want attractive females doing cute or badass stuff for their viewing pleasure.
Imagine if there were games like Oneechanbara, Bullet Witch and Lollipop Chainsaw that were mainline Xbox IPs and were always present as a series. I would love if a console company made a game series with eye candy main heroes.

I'll be honest here. I have no idea what any those 3 games are :)
So, I have hard time imaginging it.
I believe the Xbox ecosystem offers a lot more than "Shooters/Cars and WRPGs". I mean, as soon as a game in is FP, does not make it a shooter.
Now, maybe your point is more about what first parties studios are producing, which would make more sense. I mean, games I'm thinking about lately that I would love to see on the Xbox is FF7 REmake, FF16 etc. So like JRPGs, but I don't know if it is important if Microsoft Studios are producing this kind of game or just having third parties bringing them to Xbox to me. At the end, I don't think it will really make a difference.
Square Enix Europe just keeps on making baffling decisions, even Jason is criticizing their choices. I don’t see them lasting very long, Avengers is basically dead and Outriders will bomb imo.

You can quickly get 500 Reward Point in the App right now (only valid for 3 days).
You just have to download the Bing App and do a short quiz (the answer is the same for all three questions in case you don't know
)
(Sorry can't edit my post)
It said "3 days left" this morning but now you've got 17 days to complete the punch card.

You would think that they would have learned their lesson after Deux Ex: Mankind Divided sales suffered at launch due to it's GaaS elements such as the Breach competitive mode, microtransactions, and predatory pre-order DLC. But did they learn their lesson? Nope, they went ahead and dived even deeper into GaaS with Avengers. Then Avengers sells half the copies in the launch quarter that Square was hoping to sell. You would think by that point that Square would have realized that GaaS is the problem, and decided to pull a Middle Earth: Shadow of War by announcing that they were going to walk back the GaaS elements by making it less grindy and ensuring that microtransactions were cosmetic only and earnable in-game in a fair amount of time, and prioritizing actual content like more characters and missions that release for free. But nope, they decide to go even deeper into GaaS by making it *checks notes* more grindy. Square Enix Western division is so badly mismanaged that it isn't even funny. Please Square Enix Japan, just sell the western division off to somebody who will make better use of it like MS or Ubisoft, a publisher who will get them back on their singleplayer franchises like Deus Ex and Tomb Raider, and has other studios that could potentially revive Sleeping Dogs. Just don't sell it to EA, Activision-Blizzard, or Tencent please, Embracer also has too much already though they would still be preferable to those other 3. |
The sad part is that Square Japan will likely have to fire all non game developing staff in order for them to sell that division, although they might keep the western publishing branch alive. Everyone is going to go after Eidos Montreal, Crystal Dynamics and all of those non Japanese IP (Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, Soul Reaver, Just Cause, Sleeping Dogs etc.).
