Saw a rumor stating that in gamestop's system they have a PS5 slot for $499 and the Series X sku is $50 cheaper.

Tell me about it. No way of knowing how many hours I've played Sea of Thieves sucks.

Yeah I hated how MS stopped making it a requirement for X1 games.

Pretty much the reason why I can't update my most played X1 games. I'm pretty bad at estimating gaming time. 30 hours, 40 hours? Who knows...

Using times from some in-game statistics screen don't include loading times or checkpoint restarts so they aren't any good for comparison either.

I really doubt the Series X will be cheaper than Play Station Five. I mean, the main reason Sony dominated this generation is the start price (not even talking about the fact that the Play Station Four was also more powerful...) Sony would never make this mistake and I expect them to be cheaper even if the console is specs are similar (if this 9TF vs 12.5tf rumor is not real)

Even IF GameStop currently had some placeholder prices in their system that list the Series X as being cheaper than PS5, it wouldn't mean anything at this point. The real retail price of these consoles isn't locked down yet.

Honestly for me it felt like an improvement but everyone has his own preference.

The game is huge and I can agree that most of the places feel similar but if go on the 'eductation tour' you will find out that plenty of those places are basically 90% of what they looked like back then (except for enemy camps and the fantasy stuff)

What surprised me the most was how the game got bigger and bigger in more stuff to do, after 50 hours another 'huge' quest opened up probably you already passed it if you already played a lot of the story missions. 

Even after a 100 hours I was unlocking quests that were original.

BTW it took me sometime to get the platinum

Not really. Lockhart I'd for consumers that wait to buy consoles mid gen when they reach the $250-300 price point. If Series X ends up being $450 MS can get the hardcore and the midgen crowd. $150 is still a large difference in price.

Damn hope that MS keep a close eye on that if it ever happens, honestly doesn't look like a great deal in the long term for them even now there are rumors of them using Kickstarter for an old game despite the recent injection of cash.

They might end up regretting this in the future.

Sea of Thieves isn't tracked so this doesn't help.
