With Sony just paying dev after dev just to take games already in development away from other platforms I wonder if it's already ok to call Sony the most consumer unfriendly company the gaming industry has ever seen lol. I mean, it's like they just want to force everyone to buy a PS.

yah well :) They are a businesses... Giving insensitive to customers to buy their device first, is kinda normal

I think calling companies "consumer unfriendly" when they bring more content exclusively on their platform, makes little sense to be honest. At the end, the company is not responsible for "all" gamers to be happy... Just the one buying their stuff and ESPECIALLY their shareholders. Sony is not here to please "gamers" around the world (even if some may believe so), they are here to make money. Same with Microsoft.

Now, for other platform's owner, it is unfriendly but well, the same can be said about exclusives after all (and Microsoft will probably end up with more first parties with all their studios and games coming out already than Sony this generation). Paying a third party to bring the game only on their platform or building the game only for their platform in kinda the same.

All in one, as I am playing primarily on my Xbox and PC, having something exclusive to the Play Station sucks and forces me to buy one. I even have to buy Xbox layout controller for it as my hands hurt so much after playing with the Play Station one... But I think this is more than fair game at the end if the strategy is working for Sony (or Microsoft).

You've put me to shame. I just hit 100,000.

100k is not bad at all. That is .... rank 85,000 out of 536k or something?

Looking at my stats, I've earned almost 99k in 2020 thus far. On track for a new record year.

Not surprising but Xbox version of Gears Tactics appeared on MS Store:

Lol I like TikTok, shit has me laughing so hard. And there’s not another app like it. Still not sure if I want MS to buy them.

Would've preferred them to buy Coub instead but meh, they want money and they need ONE successful app. This is the foolproof solution.

They should have let TikTok die.

It can be a good gateway to youtube, kids acting stupid now could later create actual good content.

Bit off-topic but Microsoft has confirmed their intent to acquire TikTok US, Australia, New Zealand and Canada - The deal is expected to close mid-September.

I'm hoping it doesn't get in the way of the WBIE acquisition, I know Microsoft is filthy rich but I would assume they have a limit on how much they'd be willing to spend in a single quarter, plus both acquisitions would be done via American funds I believe - Unlike Mojang which was done with overseas cash which couldn't be brought back to America.

TikTok won't be cheap but more on topic, are y'all ready for the Xbox TikTok?

I hope both TikTok and WB deals end up falling through since they both seem like a colossal waste of money for Microsoft.

I don't hope the WB deal falls through, Microsoft is our only hope of WB Interactive not being sold to one of the other 4 shitty publishers who are reportedly interested; EA, Activision, Take-Two, and Tencent. All 4 of them are some of the worst culprits in the gaming industry when it comes to microtransactions, especially randomized microtransactions. EA, Acti, and Take-Two also have long histories of closing owned studios if they start to underperform even a little bit. Then you have Tencent who is just shitty in so many other ways, from their close ties to the Chinese Communist Party (with accusations of them using the DRM in their games to gather info about people to give to the CCP), to the fact that they have forced many of the studios they have already acquired to make shitty cash-in spinoff games.

I just don't see the merit in throwing out 2-4B or whatever it is now on studios that purely rely on licenced IP minus Neverealm that will all be likely on a Multiplatform schedule for the next year or 2 at least and it wouldn't surprise me if the bigger licenced IP have a multiplatform clause on them if Microsoft close th deal anyway.

As far as I'm concerned Microsoft should be looking at AA studios they can nature into top quality studios that hardly cost a thing to acquire just look at Deck 13 purchased for $7m as a AA studio with potential if they get funding and the ability to grow, I'd love to see a dozen of these scale purchases over a super expensive publisher deal.

I'd prefer them to instead drop a bomb and buy ONE behemoth studio with a gargantuan IP. Like, what would happen if GTA was a Microsoft game? What if TESVI? Or Final Fantasy? Those AAA games move millions within hours. MS having just one of these would lead to them essentially brutalizing any opponents into submission.
