A Senior Rocksteady dev has come out talking crap about the Series S when the controversy of how Gotham Knights will run at a locked 30fps on all consoles. Says it’ll hamper this entire generation, despite admitting he has no idea how development on Gotham Knights went lol

So stupid. WB Montreal themselves said it was because of the untethered co-op, said nothing about Series S. Series S can't be the cause because they could just make the Series S version 30 fps and the PS5 and Series X versions 60 fps if that was the case. Most likely WB Montreal is just incompetent on a technical level, as they could at least allow 60 fps in singleplayer if the untethered co-op is the cause as they claim, or offer a 30+ fps performance mode for people with VRR screens (unless of course the game has drops even when locked at 30 fps).
Now maybe Rocksteady themselves are struggling with Series S on their Suicide Squad game. Wouldn't surprise me all that much, I said the Series S specs were too low when it was announced, Xbox really should have went with 6 tflops, half of Series X, instead of 4 tflops, 1/3rd of Series X. Quite alot of devs were unhappy with those S specs when they were announced. That being said, Series S can't really hold things back that much when it is simply a matter of lowering resolution and/or graphics settings to get a game to run on Series S. It still has plenty of power for 1080p, even if Xbox's 1440p aspirations for it were overly ambitious, and later in the gen when games get more demanding, devs can always drop to 900p or even 720p and use AMD Super Resolution to upscale it.
