Finished my 2nd playthrough of Death's Door using only umbrella as melee weapon. Got all 1000G.

What a game. Can't think of a single negative thing about it. Story, gameplay, art style, soundtrack.. everything top notch. Play it if you haven't already!

Played it for half an hour and thus far it feels like a pretty average indie game. Already dislike the level design.

It gets better and once the combat sticks and you get a good feel for it, the game can get addictive.  I personally would have like more combo opportunities but I enjoyed the game.  Right now I am playing nobody saves the world and I am really liking that game as well.

I have no issue with Cortana. I will reserve judgement on the villian util we see more of it. Everything else so far looks fine. I do not have any huge high expectations from this show, I would be fine if its entertaining. Production value looks decent enough. I am guessing that the villian is human because trying to animate and show emotion for aliens for the length of the show is over the budget.

How much ya betting that the villains father was a terrorist killed by Master Chief (or UNSC fucked her planet up in some way) so she hates them.

Soren should have been the only human 'villain' as he would hate both UNSC and Covenant, they could have took notes from The Expanse on how to handle it with Belters hating Earthers, Soren is a Spartan II who was severely disfigured by the augmentations, he wanted to fight still but was forced to a desk job, his frame of mind makes him an easy target for insurrectionists to manipulate, his resentment of UNSC would grow.

TV Show could have him as a man leading an insurrection group or something, a former Spartan, disfigured or not, would give Chief a little trouble, especially when Chief knows him on a personal level, that should have been their complex human 'villain' and I don't really consider him a villain in the true sense of the word, he's a broken man.

You do know you are saying a lot of "They should have done" without actually knowing what they have done.

Honestly...

I have no expectations either. There is a well known and documented history of how video game translate onto the big or in this case, small screen. It's chequered at best.

I'll probably watch it once the whole season is released and read about it on here.

And Tbh if it's a budget issue then they shouldn't have done the show at all cause these budget issues will only grow with time, what are they going to do when we get to Halo which has Forerunner constructs, sentinels, monitors, the flood, etc. What are they going to do when it comes to the huge scale battles, are the absolutely gigantic Covenant going to just send that single human villain and 3 Elites? Lol.

It's frankly ridiculous that the Covenant would even send a human to lead their vital operations instead of a high ranking Elite or Brute, even a Grunt would kill a normal human with ease. If humans were actually allowed in the Covenant they would likely be somewhere here; Prophets > Elites > Brutes > Humanity/Kig-Yar > Grunts cause their tactical intelligence makes up for their biological shortcomings.

Is the entire Covenant structure abandoned in the show too? Is this lone human above Elites in the hierarchy? Are we dumping the entire culture of the Elites? How prideful they are? They had to be forced to give up their position as 2nd in the Covenant and absolutely despised having to hand it over.

The Hierarchs refusal to allow humans to join the Covenant was one of many things that led to the Great Schism too and IIRC the majority of the council which is made up of Elites and Prophets wanted Humanity to join but Truth, Regret and Mercy knew the secret about Humanity being the 'chosen' ones by Forerunners and thus wanted to exterminate them and covered it up, refused to let any join, they had final say over the Covenant.

But in the show they're letting humans join so, sorta ruins all of that, Lol.

I don't know why you're getting as worked up as you are about this show lol

They literally told you that they weren't gonna play by the rules of the Halo you know and love. Wrote a whole ass essay about how this is it's own timeline, dancing to the beat of it's own drum. When they go out of their way to be that up-front about it, you really just have yourself to blame if you're going into it still expecting them to be faithful to the source material.

And that's not even going into the fact that this is a show born of development HELL. We were promised a Halo show literally a DECADE ago. Projects don't take that long to materialize because things going smoothly. God only knows how many changes, compromises, and hurdles this show had to go through to even see the light of day at all.

The absolute best case scenario here, was always going to be "oh hey...pleasant surprise...this ain't too bad."

This is one of those trailers where it's hard to tell if it will be good or not. CGI looks great for the most part. Steve Downes was never a realistic choice as voice actor since we will probably see Chief without his helmet from time to time. Cortana looks off, but nothing I can't get over as long as the character is well-played/written. Master Chiefs armor looks sick and same with the Arbiter. I don't have strong feelings either way about the human villain, it will all come down to the backstory/motive.
The only thing I hated was the song choice.

Do we know what the show will be rated? TV-MA or TV-14?

Like I said yesterday, this Halo show is really easy for me to skip. I was already not a fan of how they came out and said that they weren't planning to follow the plot of the games (because some tv writers think they can design a better plotline than one of the best video game trilogies of all-time), and then there is the system shock of seeing Cortana looking too human and Chief's voice sounding all wrong. And to top it all off, the series is exclusive to Paramount+, a streaming service I'm not already subbed to, and one that has very few shows other than Halo that I have any interest in, considering the newest Star Trek series all seem to be hot garbage.

Almost 9 years of development on this Halo tv show, almost 9 years since it was announced at E3 2013, and this is the best they could come up with.

If it's a really easy skip, why are you complaining about where the TV series is being streamed on? I'm sure there is a 14 day or 1 month trial you can use or sub for 1 month and cancel.

Xbox is definitely going to give us 1 month of Paramount + via Game Pass so I wouldn't really be concerned if you're American.

My Brit ass however, Lmao. I still don't know how I'm watching it.

You play Sea of thieves as a PIRATE? Try looking in the BAY!

That's where I'll find it in Australia.

It'll probably end up on Sky here in Germany, would be my guess. Wouldn't surprise me if the same is true in the UK.

"Soren should have been the only human 'villain'"

That's my point, I'm aware Soren is in the show and will likely be a bit of a 'villain' but I'm saying he should have been the main human villain instead of the Covenant lover, the Covenant should have remained as they are in the games. If they needed a complex villain then it should be Soren only.

The thing is, we really do not have enough of the plot to really say what should happen.  Its like second guessing a football game before it even started.  Until we actually see how this all unfolds, who knows how this story will go or develop and it could develop totally different from what you expect or even thought of which to me would be great.  If you can just sit back and figure out the plot and story from a 2 min trailer then there are no surprises.  I would hate for the show to be predictable which would make it boring.
