I told my wife what to buy me for Christmas (and where to buy it) so I know that I'm going to get Assassin's Creed Valhalla (Gold Edition), Watch Dogs Legion (Gold Edition) and Borderlands 3 (Ultimate Edition) (all physical).
Watch Dogs Legion really is dirt cheap already. Gold Edition was available for €20. If you buy the season pass separately, it's already €40 lulz.
Spade said: Has anyone here played Origins? I was never the biggest fan of AC games, but got into it really starting with Unity, and Syndicate. I really enjoyed Syndicate's characters and story. I'm on the side of less stealth is better. Pretty big change for Origins obviously. |
I thought Origins was great and slots into my list 2nd behind Black Flag I thought the balance of stealth/RPG was good with just enough of the stealth side of things to keep the AC identity and it was great visually as well. When they first announced the Egyptian theme I wasn't really sold on it but it became a great setting I grew to enjoy and I think they did the open world pretty well as in it was entertaining enough to run round doing random stuff whilst not been a chore.

For me, Origins is the game that finally made me "like" the AC series. I disliked the ones before (story and gameplay wise); but Origins was really the first steps into that open world/RPGish/lootish system. I really LOVED that game. Also worth mentionning that it looks really good.
And then came Odyssey that for me was even better... Better loot/perk system, better open world, better characters (when I say 'better' it is obviously based on my personal taste :)).
Finally the Valhalla was a let down for me, the loot is basically gone, those blue dots on the map, man I hate those blue dots; in Origins/Odyessey it was actually fun to do all side quests etc. In Valhalla, they are just blue stupid dots that are unrelated to each others and it feels like a grinds more than anything else...
stupid... blue... dots...

I don't think Halo has ever lost to battlefield/cod in critic reviews. At least not the mainline games.
Even Halo 5 beat Blackops 3 and Battlefield Hardline lol.
*yes I'm ruining the joke and being a general party pooper*

So it isn't just me who is unable to pre-load it. They really need to make a pre-load available. Imagine how many people are going to try to download as soon as it launches. |
Less than the amount that went to download the MP a few weeks ago, which went down just fine after the initial mistake of not putting it up on Xbox.
Terrible launch time tho...wtf. I'm very much in favor of a global launch, but why is that designated time not even midnight in 343's own time zone? You've been letting reviewers play this campaign for like a month already...why the fuck do we all gotta wait so long?
Ryuu96 said: I prefer 6pm over midnight simply cause I'll play for longer in a single session, what sucks is no pre-load though. |
Playground does what 343 can't.
You love to see it.
