I predicted 88 for Halo Infinite. It could still get there.

I didn't think I'd made a prediction but in the metascore thread it shows I said 86. Halo Infinite is right on the edge of being 86!

967th - 88 (Lowest 88 score)
1212th - 87 (Halo Infinite)
1239th - 86 (Highest 86 score)

Will probably end 86-88 so could go either way.

It definitely could go down a score, but hopefully not! Too bad co-op is missing at launch or else it would be 88 or 89 easy, 90 if it had Forge as well.

I didn't like 5s story but the last 2 hours of it were quite good and it ended on a huge cliffhanger. I was under the impression that Infinite would a continuation of that. Is it a totally different story line?

Well, from what I have seen it begins just after the war that 5 set up. Halsey created the new Cortana, the weapon, to stop the old, evil one by trapping her within Zeta Halo, which she succeeded at, but during the war the Infinity gets destroyed and Chief is left floating in space for 6 months. The Pelican pilot from the earlier trailers saves Chief and they realize that the Banished have came to the ring in the 6 months that Chief has been out for, and plan to fire it. Chief decides to stop them. Story about the prior 2 years between 5 and Infinite is learned bit by bit via collectibles around the open world as well as cutscenes with the New Cortana, the weapon.

That is so lame. That story actually sounds pretty epic. Hopefully there is non mainline Halo game that tells the story.

idk about mp. Right now i'd say Halo 5 had a better mp. Infinite needs some progression and playlists work.

Halo Infinite MP is better than Halo 5 MP IMO.

I do agree with Angelus that it was very good mechanically and the gunplay was good but I sorta feel like, Halo Infinite feels more 'Halo' than Halo 5 did, I'm glad they've dumped all those inherent Spartan abilities and bringing back equipment, Halo Infinite MP feels like a modern evolution of Halo 3 while Halo 5 felt like something else...Still good but I get the Halo feeling more from Infinite if that makes any sense.

Progression in Infinite is bad, REQ system was trash too in Halo 5 though, about even there.

In terms of playlists, Halo 5 sorted its playlists better but they both launched with around 6 core game-modes in total, so there's not much difference there, Halo 5 had 21 maps but that was extremely deceiving, 3 were Warzone Assault which were exactly the same maps as Warzone which takes us down to 18, 7 were Forge maps which brings us down to 11 and 2 were remixes which brings us down to 9 original maps, I don't particularly think Halo 5's maps were that good either whereas I'm enjoying most of Halo Infinite's.

And Warzone was a poor replacement for BTB.

But 5 ended up having BTB and Warzone. I might be in the minority here but Warzone > BTB.

And it will only take us until December for Halo Infinite to have more modes than Halo 5 did (and a better playlist selection if they fix that).

I agree with you on all points, but another thing that many don't point out as a definite improvement to Infinite that 343 drastically changed was the art style.

Halo 4 and 5 looked very......plastic like and cartoony. So seeing this art style change to be more akin to Halo 3's as well, was a big sigh of relief for me personally.

Halo dropped to 86 so my prediction is spot-on as it stands. :O

Some reviewers are waiting till release like Easy allies to see what positive MP changes will happen on that day if no change I don't 'except great scores tho. The Metacritic will go down. I am happy what I am reading about the campaign but it seems to be a campaign you finish ones and is not easy to go back into. You can not simply go into a level like old statements. Remember Halo reach campaign challenges?

So 4 new day-one games all announced at TGA? Very cool!

Not sure if this means unannounced games, or games that are already announced but at TGA they are going to reveal they are gamepass games.... or mixture of both.

Me and my kid are looking forward to Halo Infinite campaign. I was able to secure a Series S for him for christmas and will try to have it already on the console when he plays for the first time

My ultimate challenge this week was win 17 matches. I started with going 1-10 and almost had me giving up entirely. Then switched things up the next day, playing only BTB, and found a bit more success and got to 7 of 17 complete. Then today with a bit of fortune and complete try-hardness went 10-1 to finish off the challenge. What a shit show it was to complete this challenge.

Ugh. So apparently there is currently no way to replay Halo Infinite's 14 campaign missions without restarting the whole campaign. If you miss a collectible like a skull on one of the 14 missions you are SOL. For a game 6 years in the making it sure does feel like they are missing an awful lot of important features. It honestly feels like we are in for at least another 1 year wait before the game is where it should have been at on launch; raytracing, campaign co-op, mission replay, weather, Forge, lifetime career progression system, fan favorite playlists, more biomes; all are coming sometime after launch.

Didn't they say that you could go back through areas even after completing main missions? Seems like you should be fine as long as you don't complete the last mission.
