Precursor is what I thought right away when she said that about the Foreruners :) I hope it is the case, cause it means this will open a whole new arc in the Halo universe/story!

I respectfully give it a "C".
It looks beautiful, very fluid and yes, fun, but this mix of "small gameplay cuts" with "cinematics" is not good enough.
I mean, they're less than 60 days away and they can't produce 5 min of continuous gameplay without putting in "gameplay chunks" and "cinematics"? With all due respect to the fans, I'm not at all impressed.
They should be able to show more, a good 7-10 min of continuous gameplay with very small number of cuts, not a narrative mix full of "best moments" and Cinematics.

I don't see how that would make any difference. I think they showed enough gameplay where you get an idea of the mechanics and gunplay. As well as what the overworld is like and even an upgrade system which was pretty cool. I don't need that long of uncut gameplay in an overview trailer where there was still a lot of straight gameplay. This was primarily as a way to to give people a taste of what's in store. But with how much they've been revealing over the past several weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if they released a 10-15 straight gameplay video soon.

So you find it Beautiful, Fluid and Fun... but give it a C because it is not long enough.. :)
That's why internet polls mean nothing these days!

I think they really should not show more at this point... I'm very hyped by the story, sound really cool.
And this was plenty enough to show us that they mean it with the campaign and that the game looks gorgious and fun like I wanted.
Halo looks great but I hope the story can be completed in a linear form.
I think a big hurdle for the campaign is the price. Considering multiplayer is F2P you are paying $60 just for the campaign. I wonder if multiplayer and the campaign will be reviewed separately. I'm guessing not but would be interesting. I'm very interested in seeing reviews, though I'll play for myself on launch day so I won't bother reading if embargo is super late.

I'm very curious about this as well. Halo has always been reviewed as a great big package, and whether we're talking about one of the better or worse Halo games, they're always some of the most feature rich shooters on the market in terms of the modes provided. Now we have Halo game that, yes, offers a great MP package still, but is charging full price for just the campaign on it's own.
Obviously, GP changes the dynamics of the value proposition these days, because you can go play that campaign for just 10 bucks if you're so inclined, but I'm curious to see how the gaming media approaches that split. Is it still a package review? If I were personally tasked with reviewing it, I gotta say I'd be inclined to separate campaign and MP.

After watching the trailer I agree with this point. I believe they showed enough gameplay and you get a sense of how the game plays. No need to show anything story wise anymore. What I came away from the trailer is that I want to play this game and that's All I need. I do not want anything else to spoil my first playthrough of the game.

I'm wondering if 343 is thinking since it's the first Halo game to have an open-world, at least semi open-world, has what looks like a somewhat extensive upgrade system, and all these things that they're comparing it, price wise, to a Sony first-party single player game and feel it's worth the price.
If the campaign is about 20+ hours or so with a fun way to make players want to 100% the campaign, I think it'll be worth it. Plus it would be $10 less than Sony's.
