I detected a little discrepancy.
The OP and article say the Xbox One is at 44.02 million units, but the Platform Totals page: (http://www.vgchartz.com/analysis/platform_totals/) has it listed at 44.74 million.

So what the Xbox One sold in Europe in 6 years, Switch just did exceeded in just over two and a half.

When looking at all the numbers, i assume not earlier than holiday 2021, but rather in mid 2022. Unless something very special happens.

The most impressive part of this is that Europe is the Switch's weakest territory.
