No guesses?

#8
Hint 1: What? This game looks like something for little kids!
Hint 2: Lots of water.

#7
Hint 1: Balloons.
Hint 2: Hats.

#6
Hint 1: Snow. A lot of it. Occasionally ice as well.
Hint 2: The game is set in Vancouver.

#5
Hint 1: Le jeu est en 3D pour la première fois.
Hint 2: You meet a 3000 year old king.

#4
Hint 1: An iconic game is used as the intro for this game.
Hint 2: After that, a whole new game follows, which is of course partly based on the iconic game, but its level set-up is quite different.

#3
Hint 1: My signature.

7.  Super Mario Odyssey

Ok here is my final clue:

1. Many years after watching the first Star Wars movie, I found out it had a subtitle "A New Hope", although this subtitle is rarely used.  In fact every other movie uses Star Wars in it's name like "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" or "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith", but the first movie is usually just called "Star Wars".  My game is like this.  The name used for this first game in the series is also the name of the whole series.  People very rarely use the full title for this first game, and most probably don't even know it.  On the other hand, almost every sequel has the main name of this first game in it's title somewhere.

Difficult.

Maybe you're talking about The Legend of Zelda, the original, which in Japan had the subtitle 'The Hyrule Fantasy'. But I'm not sure.

7.  Super Mario Odyssey

That's correct!

Still, no correct guesses on these two, so here's another hint for both:
#3
-A space combat game set in the distant future, 32 years after the first great war between the Terran-Vasudan alliance and the mysterious Shivans
-The second, and to date the last game in this series. It ends on a cliffhanger, and its very unlikely we'll ever get to see a conclusion to this story.
-The developer of this game would later find success with the Saints Row-series

#2
-11,000 years before the events of the game, a great war was fought between humans and a race of winged creatures that had enslaved most of the other intelligent races
-Over the course of the game, every main character gains the ability to turn into a more powerful form that once helped the humans win the war 11,000 years ago
-A fantasy JRPG on the PS1 developed by Sony Japan Studios.

I did go over like a dozen franchises in my head, I figured it would probably be an old one.

You are both correct.

#7 Super Mario Galaxy 2

What can I say, other than this expanded greatly on the original, while bringing Yoshi back. Everything I said about the first game applies here. Because this is a sequel a lot of the "tutorial" levels are thrown out, and this game just starts off at full blast and never lets up. A lot of people prefer Portal 2 to Portal for this very reason. Oh, and of course both Galaxy games look like a 360 game despite being on the Wii. That's about all I have. Read SMG's entry for further information.
