Based on the games listed here, hard to pick between Nintendo and Rare.

Ocarina of Time and Banjo Kazooie were two of the best games ever made at the time, Goldeneye helped pioneer the ascendancy of FPS games on console, while Starfox 64 and F-Zero X are both classics.

I ended up choosing Rare simply cos Banjo was my favourite game of all time for a decade.

This was a tough one, as I played Star Fox 64 so many times as a kid, but I voted Rare as well.

Same, I think the only 64 game I played more than Starfox was Kazooie. Must've fought my way across the Lylat system well over a hundred times haha.

Bethesda of 1997 has nothing to do with iD Software and Quake II.

Also. E3 1997 had Fallout.

Yeah I was a bit confused by researching that. When did Bethesda get the rights to those games?

I guess when they bought iD, 2009.

Back in 90s, if you were cRPG fan you probably knew of Bethesda due to Arena and Daggerfall...but that was about it.

My friends and I used to compete to see who could beat SF 64 quickest. We'd have multiple systems going at the same time. Those were the days! Lol

Yeah me and my little brother had an ongoing sibling feud over who had the top spot on the high scores board, everytime one of us beat the other, the dethroned would set out to reclaim it, this went on for years haha

Just on hype, Square would win that E3. I do believe that FFVII was actually shown by Sony, since they were going to publish and market it in the US. But that was the killer app for the PS1 that boosted it past Sega and Nintendo. After that, the games, and sales of the PS1 itself, just kept going and going. That game was so big even the mainstream press was talking about it.

This E3 was an absolute blast! I'm torn between Konami and Square, but I think I'll have to go with FF.

Oh, and what to say about Duke Nukem, this E3 was generations ahead of its time.

That's awesome!

I will go with San Francisco Rush for the N64 developed by Atari.

I base this on that's what I was playing that year. I beat this games mechanics into submission like no other racing game in my life. Its the only racing game I've played and loved and replayed again and again. I just don't get into racing games. but i played the fuck out of this game!

I bought a used PS and FFVII and played to the second disc but it always felt like work for me to play. I finished Starfox 64 once and never touched it again. I loved the level and enemy layouts in Goldeneye but hated the aiming controls, so horrible. San Fransisco Rush still holds space in my heart.

I'll vote for FFVII just because that was the obvious winner of the show I'm sure of it.
