Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony's guerilla games lead producer dies

44 years still seems so young to me even though I have had people close to me dying in their teens and twenties but still, look at some of the things he had involvement in, his works were played by millions of people around the world, he was a part of thousands of hours of enjoyment had globally by gamers. That is a great legacy to have left in my eyes. Rest in Peace lad.

Terrible news. At least he got to to be there for I what I believe is Guerilla games greatest accomplishment in creating HZD.

Rest in Peace... He was so young...

That was one of my first thoughts as well, and I felt guilty. :/

OT:  What a freaking shame. I assumed heart attack, but he appears to be fit in that picture; plus, GG is not an American company, so that much less likely to be heart attack unless he has bad family history. My guess is accident or cancer, but you’d think we would’ve heard about him having cancer previously.

Suicide is a possibility as well, and there are other medical emergencies beyond heart attacks that can cause sudden death.

I’m aware; I’m in medicine. I’m trying to think of the most likely thing to kill someone so young. What else do you have in mind?

Suicide is a possibility. That is typically specified, but they could be trying to keep it private.

What a horrible tragedy. My heart goes out to his family and teammates. We lost one of the greats today.

Stroke or aneurysm were 2 possibilities I was thinking of.

As for suicide and how it's handled afterwards.....it varies I guess. I find it tends to be kept quiet more often than not.
