Metroid Prime.

Particularly the first one, and also the Trilogy for the Wii with really good motion controls.
Its original, it goes to places no other game has gone before. Its really immersive and atmospheric including it's locations & music. Also it does the Metroidvania genre in the style of a FPS really well and is critically acclaimed for translating the 2D franchise into 3D while keeping it's signature style intact. Its even arguable better than it's 2D counterparts as the exploration element has a new dimension. Also the scanning mechanic also adds even more new dimensions to it's new 3D dimension.

I can't wait for Metroid Prime 4, its gonna be epic XD

I think Halo: CE is the most influential FPS of all time.  I can't even think of another game to put in the conversation.

Doom? GoldenEye? COD Modern Warfare?

Those were big games.  But, I don't think any of them represent a real turning point in the genre like Halo did.

Well, maybe Doom, since it more or less established the genre as mainstream.

So, I'll put Doom in the convo with Halo.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. It was, and possibly still is, the best multiplayer shooter I've played.

Thats a great opinion, personally i feel goldeneye being the groundbreaker for fps on consoles should be the top if not for perfect dark

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

For me, it's Bioshock, no contest.

From its amazing atmosphere and setting, to its awesome Plasmid-powered combat, to its strong story and characters, to its stunning audio-visual presentation, it ranks as not only the top FPS games of its decade, but for me one of the greatest games of all time.

Honourable mentions to Halo 1 & 2, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare & World at War.

Gotta go with Halo.

I was in all 3 factions, but I started out in Raven, so they always had a special place in my heart. MAG was such an incredible game, and I genuinely believe that now would be the perfect time for Sony to give something like that another chance.

For me, Resistance: Fall of Man. If 2010 counts, then MAG. Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 come a close second.

Yeah, if only 2010 did count, Resistance 2 multiplayer was absolutely amazing back in the day, not to mention the singleplayer was so fucking good too... I wish Insomniac would revisit the franchise :( As for MAG, it was such an ambitious game and I loved it! What faction were you in? I started with SVER since that was the "cool" team, but gave the other two a try and found out I actually enjoyed Valor the most so I stuck with them... my Move controller got so much use just from this game alone!

I was in all 3, but started in Raven, so they had a special place in my heart. MAG was such an incredible title, and I think now would be the perfect time for Sony to give it another chance.

Would you kindly vote for Bioshock as it's the right answer.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.
