Mario Kart Wii. I do like that Mario Kart 8 has more content, but the mechanics feel a little off. I think it is how they do the coins.

In Mario Kart Wii the mechanics feel just right. I wish they brought back the Mario Kart Wii mechanics but with lots of tracks and characters like Mario Kart 8.

This. I've logged in for probably the first time in about 7 years just to agree with this comment. It tops the Mario Kart series and CTR for me, which are games that I adore. On top of everything you've said, the tracks are so imaginative, the transition from car/boat/plane is so perfect and seamless and the trophies/achievements on the PS3/Xbox versions are the perfect difficulty. So much love for this game, I encourage everyone to try it if they love kart racers!
