Nope, not feeling it.

Framerate looks horrendous. But visuals are understandable given this is GF's first main game console attempt.

About the framerate, I'm sure that will be fixed until the launch (I hope so :p)

I would certainly hope so, but looking at the Trubbish-tier shadows etc. I doubt there is a lot of room for optimization (within GF's infamous programming skills, that is).

I can never really get into these games, but I can tell this is going to be huge. People described Let's Go as a watered down remake, and it still sold 10m copies in 2 months. This is actually a brand new game and the first time a new Pokemon game will be coming to a home console. When it comes out, it's going to melt people's faces off. Like if you live in Japan or are a kid under 12, then your face will instantly just melt off.

Probably the only Switch game that will sell more than this, lifetime, will be Mario Kart.

Why should a kid under 12 be more excited about this game than Pokemon Let's Go. Pikachu is the most iconic pokemon at that age and pokemon go is probably the only pokemon game they ever played...

This game is clearly aimed at the older (hardcore) fanbase. I don't know if this game will sell much more than the let's go series.

I certainly didn’t expect this much complaining, especially because this was such a short trailer, and it still looked fine.

Not sure what all the whining is about. This Pokémon game looks a lot better than any of the earlier ones.

I’m confused about all the random grind battles returning being a problem? Just a few months ago I was pointing out how the Let’s Go games improved the situation by getting rid of those and the fans were saying “That’s not hardcore!” or some other pretentious shut.

I think Pokémon fans simply love to whine. Even yen they get exactly what they asked for, they’ll change their opinions so they can whine about it.

Typical trigger-addicted millennial snowflakes =D

I said stop putting words in people's mouths. "People" are not a singular entity separate from you, the people complaining about no random encounters back then are likely the same ones happy they're back now (and if you've read the thread you'd see there are many who feel that way).

Wait... you’re actually whining in response to my post pointing out how Pokemon fans love to whine? =P

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Anybody else delighted that they didn't actually waste time showing off new Poke'mon Go stuff?

What do people mean, "Random battles are back"? Let's Go P/E were spinoffs. Of course random battles are back. They never left the main series. Also, you people are forgetting that if you don't want to fight Poke'mon you can just avoid walking in tall grass. Also there's repel spray that is always buyable at the first store.

The graphics look dated, but they've got 9 more months to make it look better, and it is a slight improvement over Let's Go.

Level 5 has been making kickass console games since the PS2 era, so of course they are going to 1 up Gamefreak. And if you guys are dissapointed by Poke'mon then make sure plenty of people buy YW4!

oof wish Atlus would get a similar level of criticism, would make my life a tad more entertaining.

anyways, I like the new region, atmosphere looks nice, want to see the rest of the characters and antagonists, that was what really hyped me for Sun and Moon.

Looks fine to me, the starters are great! I hope Sobble turns out to be a water-ghost type. The only thing I'm concerend about too is the music, but we'll see. Also Galar remindes me way more of Italy than England - geographically at least.

-UK region is nice, but I was honestly hoping for Italy since that was what was teased twice in Sun/Moon. An Italy inspired region would have also allowed us to have a Kalos post-game, since we never got a Pokemon Z, as the train station that led to nowhere in Couriway town could have connected to the Italy region.

You can travel from England to France via train though.

On a scale of 1 being not hyped at all, and 10 being the maximum levels of hype, I would say I'm at a 6 now ... or a 6.5.

I REALLY like the look of the region and how the game separates itself from nothing but green fields. Now we have YELLOW fields. Take that!

Seriously though, the region looks very diverse. And it looks like they're trying to make a lot of unique locales that spice up the game.

The graphics and presentation ...... well ..... I guess I'll say it was better than the pessimistic side of me was expecting? But my optimistic side is a bit bummed down! Still, they'll have time to improve that. I still think the game looks pretty nice, though it feels oddly a little bit less polished than your average Nintendo game when it's first shown ... I guess that's to be expected though, Monolith Soft had a similar problem when they first showed off Xenoblade 2. At the very least i'm excited they're trying to create locales and vistas that could really only be done on a home console.

Now ... the starters? Well, I don't follow the new Pokemon titles frequently, so I don't think I'm part of the "Starter cycle", or whatever. They just look kind of dull. The water one is particularly bad. The other two are better. I like the fact that the bunny looks like he has a bandage on his nose. But GROOKEY IS THE BEST. GROOKEY IS MY BOY. Overall, they could have done better, but I'll wait to see the other evolutions.

I hope they improve the framerate before release, and I HOPE they aren't lying when they say they're trying new things.

On the plus side, this is yet another example of good marketing. We didn't see them spend 4 minutes on Let's Go, and in fact they only focused on the new games. Thanks Nintendo and Gamefreak, you guys are going in full swing.

If it doesn't look like the UK geographically to you it's because it's the UK upside down:

Which is why you can see that London is in the North instead of the South.
