Forums - General Discussion - Why did Jesus Christ sacrifice his self for you?

He didn't because he is a fictional character and there is no concrete evidence that he ever existed.

Jesus is A-okay in my book.

That's not the question that's always puzzled me.

What I want to know is, in what way was it even remotely necessary? How does any of this make sense? God only forgave us because his kid allowed himself to be tortured and executed? Which god allowed to happen in the first place? I mean, are you kidding me?

Jesus aside, god doesn't sound like someone I can respect.

I this this person is trolling.

Because it gives his fans the ability to manipulate gullible people through guilt into doing what they want them to do. Besides, if he ended up resurrecting and ascending to heaven, he really didn't sacrifice much at all, more like he suffered for humanity, but then again, a lot of actual existing people have suffered for humanity too, so, not so special in my opinion.

P.s im a christian but the stand up of George Carlin on religion is hilarious. Check it out!

...But why?

1. Death is not much of a sacrifice when he's Jesus.
2. Why does God need Jesus to die for him to forgive?

...It just doesn't make sense...

The Romen empire conquered all of Europe and they were pagan. And then.. well you know.
