Interesting. Earlier reports had it selling slowly. We'll see who's right. Personally, I always had the feeling that this game would do well in all major markets due to there being no other sim racers available.

Is the article talking about Pre-Orders or actual sales? Did they release the game earlier in Japan? (May 29th for NA)

Yes, it released on the 24th in Japan.

X360 oversells PS3 ????

If Forza really does come in at number two in overall software sales, I think it will happen. #2 should be good for 60-70k in sales... If ten percent of those buyers pick up a 360 along with the game, the 360 would be neck and neck with the PS3.

Normally I wouldn't put 10% console attach on a game but with this being an untapped genre in next generation consoles, it could attract new blood who have not commited to a new console yet.

It will be interesting either way. 

Wow, it would be a real kick to the nuts of Sony if the 360 beat the PS3 if only for one week.

On the same note, I expect PS3 sales to drop again this week. With Sony's direct competition releasing a big budget game that appeals to Japanese gamers this week, I think the 360 will steal sales from the PS3 for a short time. That makes it a little easier for the 360 to pass it (possibly until mid-June).
