Found this on the wikipedia page for Arkham Knight:
"At release, the game was the fastest selling game of 2015, and the fastest selling game in the Arkham series, reaching over 5 million units sold globally by October 2015"

That was over 5 million in ~4 months so Spidey is over that.

That was the quote i remembered, thank you for bring it here. But are we sure they refered to actual sales and not official shipments?

While I agree it likely is over that globally, keep in mind that NPD reports on US sales and not any other (global) sales as far as I know.

1st month = 2.6m
2nd and 3rd month = below SMP(1m ltd as 28 November) so, it's safe to assume spidey in that months sold below 1m units.

Probably around 3-3.5m at the end of November

That doesn't include bundles which there were lots of in november. Does it include digital?

Digital included and the bundle doesn't count since it contributes nothing to the software revenue.

Yes, NPD tracks digital sales for Sony games. Besides, it's not exactly 2'6M either, was 2'6M+ because it was said that Spiderman was closer to Halo's record 3'3M than God of War 1'9M, so people considered it sold more than 2'6M (half). Later Matt Piscatella confirmed Spiderman had sold more than Smash Brawl, and if remember correctly, it was almost 2'7M for that game.

The fact it doesn't include the bundles really drives the point home.

Sometimes I really wish NPD put an equal focus on physical sales and not just revenue. It's that revenue angle that prevents them from being able to give a physical count for bundled games.

I still can't believe they didn't count a full price bundle like 380$ SMO bundle+carrying case.

Yes Sony is part of NPD's digital reporting program.  But as you mentioned, it doesn't include bundles which is probaby 500k from the BF deal.  so 4m+
