Does it even matter in this comparison? Or are VGC actually basing world wide months on NPD tracking period and not actual months?

A lot of people are treating Cyber Monday as the deciding reason why Nintendo will be down/flat compared to last year's December (which I still find strange, since Smash really should give it a boost, regardless of Cyber Monday).

Also VGC I think does not do actual months either. I think no one does. The closest to months we have is quarterly reports.

Yeah that CM argument is really sounding like a broken record at this point. I was just curious about how VGC treated months.

Around the Network

Why are so many people still saying that CM is a part of November?

This is where VGChartz displays its aggregate monthly data:
http://www.vgchartz.com/tools/hw_yoy.php?reg=Global&start_year=2015&end_year=2018&console=

November already has four weeks of data, which means that only the five weeks of December are left. The next week of tracking to be released, November 25th to December 1st, will be counted as December by VGChartz.

I can see where the confusion is coming from, since VGChartz ends its year on December 29th and NPD ends its year on January 5th, but I've already explained why that is: NPD counted 5 weeks in January 2018 while VGChartz only counted 4. 52 weeks are slightly shorter than a full year, so the months would get out of alignment unless something is done to correct it. VGChartz has its leap weeks one year later than NPD. The last time VGChartz had a 53-week year was 2013, and 2019 is the next one.

Most of the time PS4 have been selling double X1, so sure on holidays the increase on USA+UK is bigger than other areas and that is where X1 does better, so perhaps considering the level he put for the other systems X1 could/should be 2M. But have you looked at last year and compare both PS4 and X1 to see if their relative sales are coherent or not?
