Animal Crossing, Pokémon and Luigi's Mansion 3 are all BIG system sellers
|
Animal Crossing was below 1 milion on Wii U, and last entry on 3DS was 3m+ with bigger userbase.
Luigi Mansion 2 sold good ( over 5mln ) but it took it 4 years to do so.
Pokemon yeah will sell but for example Lets Go did worse initially than Sun/Moon in the UK for example.
So, Pokemon sure, the rest, not so much.

Joke post!?
Wii U didnt had real Animal Crossing game (Amiibo Festival is Amiibo base game not real Animal Crossing game), while Animal Crossing on 3DS sold 12m, and thats huge number for 3DS game. Animal Crossing become is one of biggest Nintendo IPs, and Switch will be even bigger (most likely 15m+).
Pokemon Lets Go did sell worse than Sun/Moon initially because we talking about Pokemon game that was launch on lowest install base ever, also we talking about remake of first game and more casual orianted not about new game, while Pokemon 2019. will be next gen Pokemon game.
Luigis Mansion 2 selling more than 5m on 3DS is also very good result. Also, dont forget Fire Emblem, that will also be system seller in some degree.
At end, both Animal Crossing and Pokemon Gen 8 will be huge system seller games, with couple one smaller ones, and we just talking only about currently confirmed games while we are still in 2018.

... you kidding right. Leaf has sold more than 10M copies on the 3DS so I don't see your point with this one ?

My point is that last 2 entries in the series suffer a big drop in sales.

Wrong point, animal Crossing sold 12m on 3DS thats same number like same IP sold on DS despite DS had more than twice bigger install base compared to 3DS, so Animal Crossing is now more popular IP than ever was.
Slownenberg said: yeah its been obvious since they first started talking about 2019 games several months ago that 2018 was the slow year for the Switch and 2019 would be a lot more packed. Add a bunch of indies, DQ, Metroid, obviously more bigger 3rd party games coming, and maybe a couple more things from Nintendo (even just a couple great ports like Mario Maker and HD Wind Waker) and its gonna be an amazing year. |
Its certain that Nintendo has more unannounced 1st party and 3rd party exclusive games for 2019, I mean we are still in 2018. there is no way they announced hole 2019. lineup in 2018. in most cases Switch games were announced in less than 6 months before launch.
