Forums - Sales Discussion - Japan Sales Week 46 Media Create/Famitsu/Dengeki - November 12-18, 2018

Wow, for something so underperforming on COMG the launch has proven to be just 15k shy of Splatoon 2. Amazing!

Well, I think it is noteworthy that RDR2 drops fast, while COD keeps staying strong. Why suddenly the japanese are COD-fans?

I doubt most of them are fans of COD, more like Battle Royale junkies. It's clear, the massive appeal of this title is due solely to this mode.

In Spain sold 64.000 units. Best Switch game launch ever in that country.

Best ?! How did the others fare during their first week ?

I guess it would now sound optimistic to think Pokémon is going to be the best selling FW Nintendo title in Europe. Might as well push a lot of hardware too :3

Just scroll down inside the spanish article and you see the numbers of the other big 3 of the Switch.

I know that US sucks in foreign languages but come on...

Being Italian helps a lot :)
However, Switch sales are insane this week, I wonder if Smash will do better

I love you for this. I love people like you.

Alright, I need to come clean. The last console I ever owned was a Gamecube. I loved that little thing. Tons of great games. But after that I got sucked into PC gaming that's where I've stayed for pretty much my entire teen and adult life. But as of about 40 minutes ago, I am now the owner of another console. For $199 for a PS4 + Spider-man was far too tempting for me.

So if you thought I had a bias before, now just wait till I'm actually able to play all those sweet PS4 exclusives.

WTF does that have anything to do with Japanese sales?

If you had actually read the thread, you'd see that I was facing accusations of bias. I felt the need to confess as I do now as of today own a Sony console. Reading the thread helps derive context.

Now, what does your post have anything to do with this thread?

I don't think this revelation will make any noteworthy difference.

Oh I completely agree. Math, logic, and reason will still be the backbone for my analysis. It's just before I could just say "I'm only a PC gamer", and I don't like lying, as it's much easier to state the truth.
