Despite this, my favorite soundtracks this year, Xenoblade 2 and Deltarune, didn't even make the list. Not including Deltarune makes sense but excluding Xenoblade 2 is downright criminal.

Xenoblade 2 is ineligible by nature. Any game that releases in December is basically guaranteed to be ignored by TGA on the promise that "it'll be eligible for next year!".

Xenoblade X was nominated, and it released in Dec 2015. Guess it just goes to show how amazing that game was.

Best Ongoing Game

Awarded to a game for outstanding development of ongoing content that evolves the player experience over time.

  • Destiny 2: Forsaken (Bungie / Activision)
  • Fortnite (Epic Games)
  • No Man’s Sky (Hello Games)
  • Overwatch (Blizzard Entertainment)
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege (Ubisoft Montreal / Ubisoft)

What about Splatoon 2? Doesn't it get new content each month?

Yes, that´s weird. And its community is always growing

I´m so glad that Detroit: Become Human got 03 nominations in such a competitive year, with so many excellent games.

Although... I find it a bit weird that it was not nominated for Best Score/Music. The score of that game is outstanding. Each character has a different background music style, each one had a different composer with different goals and inspirtations. Anyway...

I hope at least Bryan DeChart wins best performance. He was fantastic handling Connor´s duality.

OMG this!!! Was just listening to the Soundtrack on Spotify. AMAZING!!!

They just do so well in capturing this very particular "Mood".

In terms of a soundtrack nomination, Xenoblade 2 should have had more of a chance due to its conventionally good soundtrack, as opposed to X's unconventionally good soundtrack.

Beaten by a DLC nonetheless ... but that's more of a VGA fuckery

Yeah, and Tales of Zesteria and Fire Emblem Fates weren't even nominated both of which came out in 2016. Oh well what you gonna do. It was a hell of a DLC.

Sawano did win best newcomer for XCX in the AGMA.

Damn most of the top nominated games are available on PS4, that's the proof that Playstation is the best platform choice for gaming!

Never heard of Celeste, they probably just didn't want to leave Nintendo out in the Game of the Year category.

Celeste is on PS4 which makes every game nominated as available.

Proof of subjectivity, not a fact by textbook definition, since it's entirely subjective to begin with anyway.

Yep.

Do they still have a handheld category? Guess what platform we will never see at this category ever again. Hell, this entire event.

Irrelevant much😏

He talked about platform and category. Irrelevant how XD

2018 was kind of a boring year for games in my opinion. This list doesn't excite me that much.
