I don't think it would have mattered that much. This game is going to be absolutely massive. And the hype keeps growing and growing and growing. 

 

Also it might have to do with giving reveiwers more time with the game, while GoW is a beefy game. It's about 30 hours long if you do almost everything. This is a much bigger time sink. You could probably spend 100 hours into this game easily

And that time sink is without the multiplayer.

I don't know how they exist at all with such an incredibly racist name. They're almost as bad as Edge. The main difference is that Edge has been consistently handing out terrible review scores for over a decade, where with Slant, it seems like a more recent development.

Everyone was absolutely convinced this will be amazing. Keeping that in mind, I doubt the stellar reviews will help the sales much, but they're nice to have of course.

Ha, that is kind of my view on when it dips up and down from numerical point in the high 90s. The dream is over! /s

I think it will be on par with Witcher 3. (Not in metascore but in importance and scope)

It also helps that most or all of these Xbox critics are playing on XB1 X, which is native 4k on RDR2 and has the highest framerate of all the platforms. That alone is worthy of the extra metascore point for the XB1 version imo. 

I do wish I had an xbox one x, so I could play this at the highest level.
