In versions for newer consoles, are the loading times before and after battles shorter than on the PS1?

Final Fantasy VIII still remains as my favourite.

As for the whole mainline, aside from FFXI and FFII which I have not played, I'd rank them like this:

2. FF IV

3. FF VII

4. FF IX

5. FF XIII

6. FF X

7. FF VI

8. FF XV

9. FF V

10. FF XII

11. FF I

Final fantsy 9 is the best in my opinion.

1. FF9

2. FF6

3. FF10

4. FF7

5. FF12

6. FF4

7.  FF14

8.  FF13, FF15. these two are on the same level.

The ones I didn't list I haven't played/finished.

WHAAAT you gotta be kidding.  Squall and Rinoa's was better because of the fact that they hated each other in the beginning.  Squall was a very unfriendly, uncaring guy, and the fact that Rinoa was the only one who could pull him out of that is what makes it a better love story.

But Tidus and Yuna always liked each other.  There was no ups and downs, no arguments, no turbulence in the relationship.  It was sappy as hell and not believable at all.
