If Nintendo is smart, never. There's no benefit that could come from a Switch with more processing power that couldn't be achieved by more logical revisions that improve things such as portability and battery life.

They can do both.

2DS/New 3DS

PS4 Slim/Pro

XB1 S/X

That's an incorrect comparison.

PS4 Pro and Xbox One X are high-end models with new price points while the New 3DS models assumed the price points of the models they replaced. New 3DS is more comparable to PS4 Slim and Xbox One S, because they all replaced models that were phased out shortly afterwards.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

They are fine comparisons, Nintendo can release a more powerful model while also releasing a smaller model like those 3 did.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Switch-Lite will launch in 2020. It will be slightly smaller, with better battery life, and cheaper to produce. The price will be $200 without a game, or $250 with a pack-in title.

Improved Switch probably around 2021. Switch Mini/Pocket probably next year.

Let's just wait for the next generation, shall we?

I'd wish for never but I do think it's gonna come up in late 2019.

Switch Friend Code : 3905-6122-2909

While I agree with the sentiments of many, that the system should ride it out as is till its time for a new system, there are also the slight modifications that have been made to their other portable systems over the years.  If they are going for an upgrade in battery life or a slight design change, then I see it happening in 2019 and then that model will ride out till eol.

My guess would be 2021 at the earliest.

See no reason this console would not be a full console generation.

I think there wont be a smaller version cause Joy-Con consistency, nor will there be a stronger version cause porting consistency/splitting userbase. The revision will just have better battery life, better wifi, more storage, and a bigger screen size so no bezels.

Probably after Xbox Scarlett and PS5 releases? So an Improved Switch, makes sure to get better parts are cheaper price? and to get few AAA games that base PS4 wont get but PS5 will

I game on all consoles and PC
