2020 or 2021. Maybe 2020 launch for home version and 2021 for hybrid version. Or they could stretch it to 2021 and 2022 respectively, to get the required computing power at a cheaper price and lower power consumption.

Congratulations. Same here. 11 years. Best thing I've quit since church. |
Wow. I didn't know you used to be an Xbox fan. What made you quit?
Holidays 2020. PlayStation meeting in spring 2020. 2019 is all about days gone, dreams, and ghost of Tsushima.
2020 should see death stranding and the last of us 2 finish off the PS4.

I would go with 2021, Sony is enjoying a lot of success, they will surely want to extend PS4 sales for as long as they can. However, I would not be surprised if it ends up being 2020. It will be interesting to see how Microsoft will attack the next generation (they've alread begun with the aquisition of those development studios), Microsoft's next machine may indeed determine PS5 release date.
I guess it depends on when will TSMC be able to deliver enough PS5 APUs on 7nm node for reasonable price.
Considering 2019 is the 25th anniversary of Playstation it’s most likely releasing between holidays 2019 and 2020.

Or if the life span increases again, like it did between PS3 and PS4 (about 20%) we're talking 2021 (8 years). But at the end of a day it has more to do with whatever the competition does. If MS decides to release its console in 2020, so does Sony and vice versa.
