Forums - Gaming Discussion - Tales of Vesperia battle load time comparison. Switch vs PS4

37 - 34 is 3. Just saying. But yeah, hilarious thread that I have come to expect from a certain fan base.

Your right I miss counted.
So it looks like its 3sec for the Switch and 4sec for the PS4.

But this isnt apples to apples comparison, in differnt area's ect that could effect things.
Even if its like this across the entire game, a 1sec differnce is something you can live with.

Its still surpriseing though, usually its the Switch that loads much slower than the PS4/Xb1 in games.
I guess it comes down to how much effort devs wanna put into it.

Those who are saying that it's about a 1 second difference appear to be correct.
Starting from the first frame the shattered glass effect appears on screen, to the last frame of the shattered glass/bright glow overlay vanishing, there's a difference of exactly 1,04 seconds.

Switch: 03.23s
PS4: 04.27s

Though to get an accurate comparison, both games should be loading up the exact same enemies.
Also the Switch footage was filmed in 30fps from a camera while the PS4 footage was 60fps from a direct feed.
But yeah, Switch appears to load a bit faster.

Any information about the frame rate on switch and ps4? 60 fps would be nice in this game.

As others have pointed out, this is not apples to apples. All that I think we can reasonably infer here is that load times are similar.

Relatively speaking. This is kind of stuff and fluff seeing as 1 second of difference between both won't make a significant difference in the end.

The PS4 footage was 60 fps.

The switch was 30 fps, but it wasn't a direct feed.  The game will most likely be 60 fps.

3-5 seconds per battle, huh?

If the docked version is 1080p, my bet would be on it being the same as the PS3/360 versions (30fps in field, 60fps in battle). 720p/30fps to 1080p/60fps is a big jump for the Switch to make on most major PS3/360 titles, even the X1 doesn't always pull it off perfectly. I wouldn't say it's impossible, Vesperia wasn't exactly a technical showcase even in 2009, but if it can be reasonably done then it'd require them to put in more effort then I usually expect :p

Thats nice!

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

PS4 should be 60 as I believe the original 360 version was 60. Not sure switch will be though.
