I predict the game will end up with at least 5 million before year's end. When they do the inevitable GOTY edition that includes the DLC by this point next year I think it will sell 7mil Lifetime. It will be the most successful game Insomniac has ever had and I am happy for them. They are continuously rated one of the top 10 places to work in US, have a sharp pedigree in the industry, they deserve it.

This will also open up quite the door for them with working with Disney. Many might not know this but Insomniac has 2 studios. One in California, the newer one in North Carolina. They really didn't seem to have enough work to support having two studios. Several of their last endevours were complete busts or just not largely successful, like FUSE, Song of the Deep, or to a much less negative extent Sunset Overdrive. but this changes that. Spider-Man 2 is all but assured to happen with them now. I love that they are seemingly able to do this without being controlled by any one publisher. Publishers have too much say in what goes into a game, it is indicative of an industry that has far too many "me too" games. Like every game being a MOBA or Battle Royal these days. Them being allowed to work with what they like is very beneficial.

You sound so serious but I cant believe that. I guess you should adjust your expectations since it's already at 5m after 10 days. Average drop of 40% in week 2 in Europe and Asia. Extrapolate that to USA and other areas and the game is at around 4.7m + let's say 300k bundles and that's 5m.

Lifetime its gonna be 10m + easily

I guess I was trying to be on the conservative side.  I do expect the sales to be very front loaded, there is a lot to get through this holiday that will canabalize some sales. Red Dead Redemption 2, COD, etc. So I imagine majority of what Spider-Man is going to do is going to be in these next few weeks. If it does achieve 5million by end of month I say 6.5mill years end, 10mill lifetime.

I am rooting for it, the game is amazing and I am now torn over whether it or God of War deserves more to be GOTY.

I'm glad Insomniac is enjoying some great sales again.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

I don't want to do my Nintendo fanboy, but I just remind that Odysee had performed 60% of this sale in the same amount of time (2M in 3days), with an installed base of Switch 7 times inferior than the PS4 today.

install base arguments are so flawed that they are rather pointless. wii had a 5-6x the install base for sequels of mario galaxy, and zelda, and they both sold much worse then there predecessors.

Wow. Really impressed. Every time sony releases a new game, it sets a benchmark...and then another game comes and beats it.

Now all i need is some more variety in the types of games they publish and i will be all set.

And Killzone: Shadow Fall sold 1 million copies on an install-base 27 times smaller. Past a certain point, the degree to which install base affects the sales of individual games diminishes rapidly. As quick noted, Galaxy 2 actually sold less than its predecessor despite the Wii's install-base being several times larger at its launch. Does that make Galaxy 2 a massive relative flop? Of course not, because by that point other variables were far more relevant. Those same variables are what allowed SMO to sell more than G2 on less.
