Why are you avoiding the issue? Name those SWITCH exclusives that are gritty and aimed at adults. Just because adults can enoy playing them doesn't make them gritty.

What SWITCH exclusives are similar to God of War, Uncharted, Killzone, Detroit Become Human,...? Almost all SWITCH exclusives even have same kind of art style. Or do they have the same variety in their art style as Uncharted - Ratchet&Clanck?

"All SONY exclusives are linear interactive movies." is an idiotic statatement that can be easily proven false, because open world games can't be linear and only a couple of them are interactive movies.

But "Almost all SWITCH exclusives are family friendly." is not an idiotic statement. Or make atleast better argument than "It's not true".

Even if you count 3rd party games you get two FPS games, Skyrim, LA Noire and few sports games. And two of those are over 5 years old.

I'll address your concerns once you have broken down Nintendo's games in as many subcategories as Runa216 has broken down Sony's games.

No, no, no. You don't get to demand others answer your questions and accuse them of derailing threads when they don't get the answers you're looking for and then turn around and refuse to answer questions people ask of you like that. So, live up to your own standards, and answer the questions.

How about new IPs? How many new IPs has Sony added this gen?

Bloodborne
Horizon Zero Dawn
Knack
The last guardian
The Last of US (not sure if this counts since it was technically at the end of last gen)
Nioh
The Order 1886

How many new IPs has Microsoft had?

Sunset Overdrive
ReCore
TitanFall? (Not sure if this counts since the sequel was also on PS4

How many new IPs has Nintendo made?

Arms
1, 2 Switch
Octopath Traveler

And many of these games are third party, so I'm not even sure if they count.

Point is, Sony is willing to diversify a whole lot more. You can argue about the matter of degree or disparity between them but it's true. 100% true. Stop arguing to the contrary because you are wrong.

Quantum Break

Ryse son of Rome

Ori

Sea of Thieves

Super Lucky Tale

Are other new ips in xbox. I dont know if  to include Cuphead

Yes. How could I forget that masterpiece. We need a complete remake immediately

Like the remake/sequel to Shaq-Fu.

I don't see how a good Superman game would work, the guy is overpowered, and limiting its abilities to serve the gameplay wouldn't work.  Like in Iron Man games, I loved them but Iron man is way too powerful and you have to be very lame while playing the game to actually lose.

I'm a Superman fan, but I also have wondered how a good game can be made when there's no challenge.

Either the game is made in a way that challenge isn't a factor, but the immersion is so great and the details to the Metropolis and the surrounding class are so good that the player feels like they are Superman.

Another possibility is to make a game where choices matter. Superman can use his super hearing to get his next mission. However, sometimes he'll have to choose between two simultaneous missions and maybe one of those impacts the game's outcome. That and not allowing the user to redo missions. If you mess up enough, the citizens you are supposed to be saving will die (or the banks will be robbed or buildings blown up or whatever) and the city will eventually turn on you. Maybe even other heroes who see you as a threat instead of a savior.

Difficulty doesn't have to be as simple as your character dying.

Again its about what YOU own. Not what is actually available on the systems. Just like when people say Sony only makes linear story driven interactive "movies" instead of actual games. Its all in the eye of the beholder.

Why do they have to be exclusive? That's not what the argument was about.

You also have Payday 2, Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2, South Park The Stick Of Truth and The Fracture But Whole, The Walking Dead 1, 2 and 3 and a ton of more mature Indie games. Also upcoming games like No More Heroes, Dark Souls, Diablo 3, Saints Row the Third, Bayonetta 3, Daemon X Machina, Doom Eternal, Metroid Prime 4 and Onimusha. That's just what we know of about 18 months into its lifecycle. Im sure Im missing some games. No, many of them are not God Of War or brand new, but they are still on the system.

All fine and dandy. But i still dont see how this stops a sequel being multiplat if disney publishes n hires insomniac to develop n give same freedome sony gave them...fyi this is not me saying it will happen so dont quote me being stupid

With the way the story has been told, it sounds like Sony pretty much set up the entire thing and then just gave Insomniac the support they deserved. It wasn't just that they helped fund it, but they also decided what studio, and I believe what superhero (or was that insomniac?) to make a game on. That's a lot of decisions, so he's probably right.

"Almost everything on Xbox is gritty, realistic, or masculine with very few exceptions. But Sony...there's so many different genres and ideas that are native to Sony's console when it comes to exclusives."

I think that the statement above makes it clear that Runa116 was talking about exclusives.

And like I said, even if you coun't 3rd party games (even the upcoming ones), there is still not that many and a lot of them are AA or old.

He also said he had 40 Switch games and only 2 of them are Mature. Bayonetta and Skyrim.

So yeah. We were talking about the entire library of games on each system.

It doesn't have anywhere near the amount the PS4 and XB1 has. That is true though.

It doesn't. Look at Titanfall 2.

I still think if it sells very well the sequel will be for Sony's system. Insomniac seems to enjoy making platform exclusives. They've made multiplatform games, but their bigger games are exclusives (they even did it for XB1 with Sunset Overdrive). I am sure when they make exclusives, they are given complete creative control, yet they don't have to risk anything because they are paid upfront by the first party publishers. That, and they can maximize their efforts by focusing development on one platform.

Sucks for those that don't have the console they choose to make an exclusive for, but in the end, just about all of us have limited access to every game. The barriers that limit that access are time and resources, so not all of us can get every game. I have no problem with that.

I still have hopes that Octopath Traveler comes to PS4, but I won't hold my breath. I won't be cursing the developers for doing what suits them and their business model for my sake, either. There are too many games already available to be salty of exclusives.

Oh look at this, the good old console exclusivity war :3

Do you have a better argument against this "Almost all SWITCH exclusives are family friendly" -statement? These two others came up with "It's not true." but they couldn't name those SWITCH exclusives that are gritty and aimed at adults.

It's also funny how Runa116 didn't meant his argument as a negative thing, but for some reason people didn't like it.
