Considering the bulk of the scores are on the PS4 then it's basically a 80 to sub-80 game. Not bad, but will probably wait for a discount since I have some games to clear first. Still I liked the previous 2 TR, if it follows same line I'll have a good time in this as well.

Umm..both PS4 and Xbox have 37 reviews each. PC has 10 reviews. So the game is probably 80 on  the dot, or even slightly above due to the pc scores.

I was going by the wrong info on OP =p

But since the game haven't finished reviews yet I'll keep it at 80 round until then =p not that 79 to 81 would make any real difference.

The previous two were decent and so far this one hasn't really put me off from buying it (apart from the stupid tacked on RTX focus). I'll probably pick it up later on this year after Just Cause 4.

That said, it is interesting to see how timed exclusivity of one game can create a long term grudge against the people behind/publishing the game, as well as going by one consoles score as if everyone thinks the same of the game on all platforms (it really doesn't).

It's good that I'm not the only one who came to that conclusion.

People were generally high on the reboot, and then for some reason hated rise, even though they were so similar, and the gameplay in rise was objectively an improvement.

Then people turned on the reboot too, and acted as if they hated it from the start. The 6-point difference between PS4/XB1 isnt a coincidence

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

It's all good :)

Yeah, you're right, not as if 1 point above or below makes a huge difference.

My issues with this reboot is is that drag it on and on. First game was her origin story and how she becomes the Lara we know. Then it gets a sequel and were like cool! we get to see the Lara we've always known now, nope, shes still becoming that woman, just wait. Ok, third game, nope still hasnt became that Lara yet, maybe next time.

It's become redundant at this point. I'm over this origin and ''becoming the raider'' story, its become obnoxious. Of course, my rant aside, I still want to play it as I own every TR game, but ill wait for a black friday sale in Nov.

I think you forgot to quote me.

I lost interest in the series because in the time it was delayed too many other good games came out. Maybe if rise of the tomb raider goes on ps plus I'll play it the same way I played the 2013 reboot.

Thats quite difrence in score between Xbox and PS4 versions of game, any specific reason?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the main reason the PS4 version meta'd 6 points lower than XB1 with the same number of reviews is because the PS4 exclusive publications are still salty about Rise being timed. If you disregard those salty PS4 exclusive reviews, the average across all platforms is a point or two above 80, which really isn't bad at all.

I honestly think the game in general is average across the board, but people who think one console's reviews make the game overall "crappy" is pulling a bit of a stretch. That'd be like me saying a PC game was reviewed poorly, then gets ported to consoles and gets positive reviews, but then I usdee PC reviews to call it an "objectively crappy game".

Yeah, Rise added on to what the 2013 reboot created and it seems like Shadow is adding further on from Rise. This title isn't even exclusive or timed though, so the ill felt from the sequel 3 years ago shouldn't really be held in contempt towards the new game (that they have even yet to play).

Nah, this covers multiple fronts. Those who aren't interested in the game will see it as ssame old/mediocre and those interested in it already have set their own expectations for it. Thosethat have played and reviewed it think it's decent and not bad already.

Timed exclusivity shouldn't really play into any part of the game itself and it's quality, because then we'd have to apply that to every other system and those timed deals made as well (which we know will either be excused or denied).

It came out for two platforms, both of which were out there and able to be purchased from. THe only delay for the game was it's PS4 release, but we've also seen this delay happen with Crash Trilogy for example, and that game still got good reviews and enough people who waited to purchase or double dipped with it.

I'm not desperate to buy it as I've still got the previous title to play myself, but I'm more interested in JC4, so that lands at the top of my priority play list.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Might get it on BF when it is discounted.

For me Tomb Raider is dead cause of the last one with this timed exclusive... no need to support this game. I have enough other options.
