I don't think PM's are working for me. I've tried twice and it doesn't show up as a message sent.

That's....bizarre.

I'll try sending a message to you, let me know if you get it. If not, anyone is welcome to email me picks at ogvernment@gmail.com

Sent you my Week 17 picks to your email.

I'm not gonna be home in time to pick.

So I pick every home side. Fuck it.

MIA@BUF 2 ATL@TB 2 DAL@NYG 1 CAR@NO 2
NYJ@NE 2 JAX@HOU 2 DET@GB 2 PHI@WAS 1
LAC@DEN 1 OAK@KC 2 CHI@MIN 2 CLE@BAL 2
SF@LAR 2 CIN@PIT 2 ARI@SEA 2 IND@TEN

Couldn't fill in the Indy @ Tenny box for some reason, so I pick Indy by 10. Outside of Denver, none of the non-playoff teams give me any reason to think they can pull an upset over their potential playoff-bound opponents.

Something of an update.

Since we have a lot fewer people involved in the prediction league than years past, we can't do the typical 16 person playoffs that we've done in the past. Instead, I've got a couple of alternatives for people that want to predict the playoff games.

One option is a standard playoff bracket, similar to years past, only with 12 people. Like the NFL, seeds #1-#4 would all get byes through the first round. If you're not familiar with how the playoffs have worked previously, you can look over the full details on last year's thread. The general gist is that everyone predicts all the playoff games and the margins of victory for that week, but it's done in a 1v1 matchup format against another player. Whichever player has the better record for that week (or, if tied, best predicted margins of victory) moves on to the next round.

The other option is to just continue with a standard league prediction for the games that week. This would start with a blank slate, and everyone just picks all the playoff games over the four weeks, as well as margins of victory. Most correct picks (or, if tied, best predicted margins of victory) wins the playoff league.

I've put a poll up to gauge what people want to do, let me know what you're interested in.

I'd like option 1, but without byes. I still have a chance to finish in the top 4 and if that happens, I want to predict games on wild card weekend. Use the lucky loser rule, so of the 12 people in the playoffs, the six winners and the two best losers qualify for the quarter finals.

On one hand, a bye would be nice. On the other hand, I think having a bye last year made me completely forget to do my predictions the following week.

Changing to Indy.

Regarding the playoffs. In this situation, the top four getting byes is the only answer. The NFL does this and this is the NFL thread. Anything else is just some goofy shit.

That was a hell of a game by Dak Prescott.

HOW ABOUT DEM COWBOYS!!!!!

So here's what's been determined from the early games

New England is almost assuredly the #2 seed in the AFC (would require losses by both KC and LAC to move up to #1)
Houston is the #3 seed in the AFC
BAL/PIT will be the #4 seed and will play the Chargers in the Wild Card, unless KC loses and LAC wins in which case Kansas City will be the WC.
The winner of IND/TEN will be the #6 seed and play at Houston in the Wild card

Nothing really changed in the NFC from last week. Dallas won and New Orleans lost, but both were locked into their playoff spots previously so it doesn't matter.

Here's the playoff picture after the late games. With the exception of the AFC's 6 seed, everything has been determined.

AFC Byes: Kansas City, New England

AFC Wild Card: Los Angeles @ Baltimore, IND/TEN @ Houston

NFC Byes: New Orleans, Los Angeles

NFC Wild Card: Seattle @ Dallas, Philadelphia @ Chicago

If Houston wins, the Texans will go to New England and the winner of LA/BAL will go to Kansas City for the divisional round. If the winner of IND/TEN wins, then they will go to KC and the LA/BAL winner will go to New England.

Similarly, if Chicago wins, they will go to Los Angeles and the SEA/DAL winner will go to New Orleans. Conversely, if Philly wins, they will go to New Orleans and the SEA/DAL winner will play at Los Angeles.
