Especially from people who have constantly said 100m was impossible.

Are they actually the same people? And when mentioning "negative" comments....what is exactly negative(I guesss that is more a question for Tbone not you since he said it)? All I see is MOSTLY people underwhelmed by the shipments and doubting if Nin will hit the 20mil figure outside of 1 maybe 2 people. Nothing really "negative" but then I have not read EVERY comment in the thread either.

Yeah, i apologize. I was referring to a person(s) but not every1 means it in a negative way. Certain users like to downplay and i kinda didnt want to call them out.

That said its definetly a harder goal to hit but its not impossible. At least not yet

There usually should should be over 2+ million plus in transit or in stores shelves, 1.5 is a really low number. anyway here is the regional break down.

japan 50

americas 67

europe/ROTW 70

it seems  europe is over tracked here unless switch is selling nothing in the ROTW.

Your "should have 2+ million" rule is made up.

Also there is no notable overtracking.

Vgchartz sales

N. America-6.90

Japan-4.54

Europe-4.91

RotW-1.91

Shipments

Americas-7.81

Japan-4.89

Other-6.97

How is anything made up? all we have is ps4 to compare to, and shipments are usually in the 2+ million range compared to sell through. As  for tracking numbers  you provided not sure what your point is, my point was vghcartz estimate have europe beating americas on a weekly bases , when nintendo shipments include europe and  ROTW and they are basically tied this quarter.

Ahhhh you are good man. I know we have some odd apples on the site of every fan base lol. But yes the goal is a little harder but definitely not impossible by any means!

Side note - Didn't Sony release their results as well? Had there been a thread made for it? Was just wondering before I went ahead and made it.

Switch hardware: Good.
Switch software: Very good.
3DS hardware: Awful.
3DS software: Good.
Profit: Very Healthy.

Could be better, but at the same time it wasn't too long ago that we had "Nintendo should go third party" threads, so a little gratitude if things are less than perfect isn't misplaced.

Fixed.

Because you have very little to back up that it should have 2+ million on shelves/transit.

How do you not understand the point? Show me where its notably overtracked?

Lets assume RotW is 25% Latin America and 75% Asia/Middle East/Australia that would be

Americas-7.37 sold vs 7.81 shipped

Japan-4.54 sold vs 4.89 shipped

Other-6.35 sold vs 6.97 shipped

Where is it overtracked by any notable amount? If they are overtracking Europe/RotW in the last few months than that means they were undertracking it in the previous months.

I see, you are a man of lowered expectations.

Just say thanks.

lol are people really being negative about these numbers? They're fantastic, and have thus far included only one holiday season!

It's amazing how quickly we can forget where Nintendo was a mere year and a half ago; these are better than even the optimistic were willing to predict at the time.

Smash is still going to come out, a couple of Pokemon spinoffs, and then a true Pokemon title next year... this thing will keep on selling.

well its impossible to know with out nintendo releasing sell through number, there very well could 2.5 million sitting  in transit or in store shelves as it's usually the case with ps4 the only thing we have solid data on, and is the only comparison really available when trying judging shipping vs sell through. switch also has a higher forcast then sony ever had for ps4, so i'm sure they are  not having any shortages of systems to ship. The main reason i'm guessing it's wrong because europe vs US numbers, vghcartz always has europe beating US which doesn't make any sense.

How does Q3/Holiday software sales compare with other quarters for Nintendo? Is it a large a discrepancy as with hardware sales? If so then it should easily make that 100m software goal.

Last year it was ~40% of total software shipments but will likely be higher this year since the big hitters were spread out last year while they are more focused on the holidays this year.

Gotcha, so with quick maths if Q1, Q2, and Q4 are 18m software each and Q3 is 46m then it will hit the 100m goal. Definitely more possible than I initially thought.

Your judgment is off if you truly think that the numbers are that good.

Calling them bad is a joke.

Oh and also please update my numbers, I think I passed Aramdom. Not sure.
