I don't personally acknowledge speedruns if they use glitches.

LOL are you serious?

Reminds me of this:

"Glitchless"! The best category for arbitrary workarounds to make you feel good about yourself even though you're betraying the point of the category.

Yes. Why would I? He used a programming error to finish the game, not beat it "fair and square". It's my personal acknowledgment that I'm pretty sure nobody cares about but me. and then even barely as I am not interested much in speedruns, I've only watched like 3 or maybe 4 (including this). And they all used glitches.

Ok. Not really here to argue with you about what you prefer. But did you see that video? It's hilarious. That whole run is gold.

sometimes speed runs just rub me the wrong way... like "this isnt what gaming is about" (imo) and "where is the enjoyment in that"?

When your useing glitches and the like, to just get through it that fast.... meh.

This.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I don't recognize them, but I will say that I find a speed run though a game the way it was meant to be played is much more interesting to me.

If the glitch takes skill to exploit then what's the problem?

I mean look at this! This takes skill and research!

Still, I join the opinion of others who prefer a legit normal run of the game by the way it was meant to be played.

Let me guess, this any% speedrun makes gratitious use of the BLJ (backwards long jump) in order to skip nearly everything the game by way of gaining enough speed to clip through barriers like doors. To be honest, I think that a full 70-star speedrun (which can be done in well under an hour) is a lot more engaging to run.

Oh, by the way, did you know that Super Mario 64 can be beaten pressing the A button only once?

^ so much this.
And no I didnt know that, with just 1 A button press thingy.

Now that I look into this further, you can beat Super Mario 64 without pressing A, but only on the Wii Virtual Console.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

:3

Even though they used glitches but the guy has some skills and great patience to pull this off. Just because he used some glitches does not mean its easy to do, and this guy deserves praise and credit for this feat.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Glitched runs are fun to watch. They’re unpredictable. I watched quite a few, some of the things some people do are unimaginable. Glitchless runs are also great to watch just to see how fast a game can be done the ‘way it was meant to be done’. 100% runs mostly take too long though and get boring, but those are still impressive.
