Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Fortnite launches on Switch Tommorow!

Hyped for this just because it will bring more gamers to the Switch as a legitimate contender for the "hardcore" gamer machine.

Fortnite is about as casual as it gets though.

Well... It is by number of players and I wouldn't be surprised if it is by revenue as well.

PUBG has more players. PUBG has over 50m DAU on mobile. Over 5m players on Xbox and over 30m players on PC.

Fortrite had 40m users last month.

Right, I forgot about PUBG mobile.

Going back to 30fps (have to presume) will be jarring. Hopefully docked mode will be 60fps at least, akin to rocket league.

I wonder how long this fad will last before it dies out like Pokemon go. Think it'll make it an entire calendar year?

Seeing as how shooters tend to stick around for long (and infect every possible genre - see Fallout), I wouldn't be too optimistic. I reckon it will last for a good couple of years, at least.

Yes but the majority of players are on iOS and iOS players have the attention span of nats.

How long did the Hero Shooter genre lasted in the spotlight until it was replaced by Battle Royales?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I've played it and so far it looks more like the mobile version of the game rather than the console one (I've played it on PS4), anyone else?

Very important because if you played it on PS4 and you try to log in with your epic account on PS4 this happens:

Well that is dickish. Fortunately I don't have any account on this yet so I can start with a clean slate.
